Long Range means a lot of different things to different people. I shoot 1000 yards with iron sights using my AR15 match rifle. There is an organized group that shoots real long distance at Camp Atterbury. The Southern Indiana Rifle & Pistol Club has an F-Class Clinic coming up that will deal with your specific questions. We also host 500 yard matches on a regular basis. There is a lot of good information available if you look just a bit. Best of luck, and have a great day. DennyMac

Rem 700 HB in 223 as a starter, burn the barrel up at 6-700 yds and then you will have enough rounds down range to make your own assessment.

If you have any more information about the group that meets up at Atterbury, I'd be interested. That's pretty close to my house, and I'd like to start learning to shoot at distances greater than the 100yds I'm currently restricted to. Thanks for any info!
