Picked up a Weller Full Proof, a Larceny Barrel Proof, an Elijah Craig Barrel Proof and limited edition bottle of Bardstown tonight on my way to the fencing club.

Sipping the EC and it is pretty hot, even after melting an ice cube in the glass.
I had the C919 batch, the one that was pushing 140 proof. It was amazing, and just a little dangerous. The ones I've had since, I haven't liked as much.

Found myself in Jamestown Tennessee and then I found myself in the only liquor store in Jamestown Tennessee, called ironically, Jamestown Liquors................oh the marketing genius involved here.
Wanted to try something new and chose this, I'll let ya know.

Sparky and Jfed, I also found a couple of bottles of ECBP that were labeled respectively, 8 years (133 proof) and 9 years (128 proof). I've never seen this before and was wondering if this was truly something special or just a HH marketing ploy, either way $134 plus 10% sales tax.
    Cheers! 20220321_174133.jpg

What do the ecbp bottles look like. The last one I saw with an age statement was one of the old "pirate" bottles.

Kinda like the regular ECBP bottles, but with the age statement and proof in lower, right hand portion of the label IIRC.
Did ya miss the $134 part?......................I'm out! lol
Ya...The last bottle I got I paid 79.99 for. But it has a 12 year age statement on it. Not sure what's up with those, or the price...I'm out too.

If it looks like the top pic it's just a barrel pick, if it's the lower picture which I've only seen say 12 I would be in. Screenshot_20220322-100659.png Screenshot_20220322-100419.png

Yup, top pic in Bighoss' post (#3127), so I'm assuming if I weren't afraid to touch the bottles, I would've clearly seen they were a store pick.
I've had a few ECBPs and have never seen a store/barrel pick.
Thanks for all the help swigmasters, I knew I was in the right crowd to get this mystery solved.
FYI,that Pardi Batch 112 is an intense maple syrup BOMB!
    Cheers.

Elijah Craig store BP picks Ive been seeing everywhere on the secondary market pages from 100 up to 150. Never had one but all SiB picks are unique in there own way. As said above C919 is a really good batch ive been kind of upset with the last few releases even A122 does not compare. Pic of my last C919 20220221_190433.jpg

Back from a trip to Gatlinburg. Had a flight of Old Forester at one restaurant so that may explain some things. The goal was finding selections along the way I didn't have on hand & nothing over five bucks msrp. Shook my head at some price gougers.

In the +$50: The 1.75L was $65 (& I couldn't pass by it) as was the only 2 Peerless bottles I saw on the trip. Found Voyage 16 on a bottom shelf dusty in an overstock area.

Store owners commented how some items never even make it to the shelf. Walked into 1 store in Louisville and hard to find items were 4 to 5xs msrp. Hope they choke on their supply.

Been awhile since I posted in here. Enjoyed a pour of Stellum bourbon this week. Very smooth for 110+ proof. Blend of three whiskies from mgp in Indiana, plus whiskey from KY and TN. Around $50 per bottle.

Well, it wasn’t under 50, but I picked up a bottle of very nice, barrel-proof, single barrel select from Three Boys Distillery down near Frankfort Kentucky this weekend.

Pulled it from the barrel myself with a whiskey thief.

$25 will get you a tasting tour with 5 barrel picks drawn straight from the barrel, then a sampling of their other offerings like their blended 80 proof, barrel aged rum, and an assortment of flavored moonshine.
They also had a bourbon honey barrel finished that had a nice honey finish without the super sweetness of some of the honey whiskeys out there.

Definitely worth the stop if you’re in bourbon country, but you will be sorely tempted to spend the $150 for a one-off barrel-proof you get to bottle and label yourself.

I've been seeing bottles of Hooten and Young whiskey and cigars at numerous stores around town. Never gave it much of thought.

I was today years old when I discovered that the Hooten in Hooten and Young is Norm 'Hoot' Hooten, former Delta Force guy played by Eric Bana in Blackhawk Down.

He has quite the story. From Delta to air marshal to VA pharmacist, to whiskey and cigar maker...

‘What to remember in a firefight’ according to ‘Hoot’ the legendary Delta Force operator of ‘Black Hawk Down’ fame
