I don't own any "assault weapons", as I've never had the $$ to own a true fully automatic firearm. And even if I did, for the purpose of horse **** like that legislation, I wouldn't own any.

As flatlander said, **** them. Anyone who introduces and/or votes for such bull **** is a traitor to our constitution and should be tried and sentenced as such.

I don't know, backing gun control seems pretty classically Republican to me (I mean, Reagan, Bush 1, and Trump all seemed to love gun control of various kinds, and even Dubya said he would sign the Assault Weapons ban reauthorization if came to his desk, though luckily it didn't).
