One of the best deals in all of Gundom: Smith Wesson M&P-10, CTR Stock, MOE foreend, MOE grip, removed ambi safety because it is Canadian and as I do not have multiple stomachs like a Canadian, I do not use, ALG/ACT trigger, Daniel Defense Ambi CH, H2 buffer installed, Optic=TR24, 1-4X, drilled and pin gas block.

Just wanted to ask a quick question since there are a lot of builders here - is it a good idea to check a new build for headspace before using it? I had a guy call me crazy and leave "before I blew my head off" at the public range for not gauging mine first.

If you have a bolt and barrel from a reputable company I wouldn't worry about it with the ar15 platform. That being said it's a good idea to check it a set of gauges aren't that much.

    You can if you want.

Unless it's having issues, it'd be pretty unlikely that there's a headspace issue.

14.5" Light weight carbine build. 5 LB naked, 6 pictured.

This handy build is my idea of making a carbine as light and minimally bulky as possible. In this configuration its easy to handle in a vehicle.

Here was an odd ball build I put together a few years ago... 300 Blk STRAIGHT PULL REPEATER. This carbine had its gas system shut off and its buffer spring removed to covert to a slick to operate side charging quiet repeater. I cannot stress enough how much fun this was to shoot and run the action with

This was my take on a Mk. 12 clone. 18" marksman rifle built to shoot 75 grain loads out to 550 yards. Its configuration lends itself to being useful at close targets as well as man sized out to its effective range. I really enjoy the combination of a rifle length gas with a rifle length buffer. With hand loads it prints just under 1 minute.

What do you think of the STNGR handguard?
It’s made in Texas so that’s a big big plus being American made. I honestly would put it above palmetto but below aero precision. The gas block that came with it had garbage screws and threads. I do like the design functionality of the handguard as it has the rail at the end on all 4 sides, makes mounting flashlights super easy.

I have noticed that my the mlok attachment for my grip has caused the rail to deform due to over tightening. It’s minor but I’m going to reach out to them since I think that’s a craftsmanship issue.

Thanks for sharing, I hope they get that resolved for you. They use the same material for their handguards as a lot of others, so I hope that they can make it right, and that your experience was the rule rather than the exception.
