Almost surprised how fast they took to praising Bernie. He's on the front page of Reddit every day now, highlighting his issues. They're considering him the new Warren.

They don't tend to mention the "old, white socialist" angle. A lot of focus on how he wants money out of politics.

I met some hot blond chicks who left Scandinavia because they got jobs at the Mayo Clinic as physical therapists and thought that their 50% tax rate suc#ed. They said, "why would I stay there and pay for people who won't get an education or work?"

Now I bet they are wondering why they came here...

    .
When I see the the hilly on tv these days, she doesn't look the same, I think her handlers have her on medication. Face lifts can have the effect of blanking out expressions, but she doesn't have the same expressions she had post surgery.

How best to position Hillary as a centrist than to have Sanders run against her.

no one want to run against her and be left a shredded pile of bloody meat.

if she had no challenger then the debates would be nonexistent. She can't "compare and contrast" with an empty chair.

Sanders will be the moonbat, nutjob, statist and Hillary will look like Reagan in comparison.

    Omalley is running for VP

Bernie thinks the US should look more like Scandinavia. While I wouldn't mind some hot blonde chicks and coffee, the taxation levels would really bother me. He conveniently ignores the fact that there's no such thing as free education or health care.

Bernie Sanders: America Should Look More Like Scandinavia | Mediaite

Much smaller population, near-zero diversity, completely different culture . . . there are a dozen reasons why it wouldn't work even ignoring taxation.

I find this ironic on a GUN OWNERS BOARD, that only one person can be named who isn't anti-gun. I also find it more ironic that there are people here who still trust the people who brought us our Last gun ban. I did vote for William Jefferson Clinton, the 1st time, but after Biden writing the bill, the Democrats passing the bill, and Clinton signing the bill,I DON"T TRUST THE DEMOCRATS. They will not say who they really are.Bernie Sanders is the only one who has the gonads to say who he REALLY is. The Democrats seem to read the 2nd amendment as "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall and will be under constant infringment." Mabye WEBB is your man......NONE OF EM ARE MINE.

I suppose it's relative. If half of your income was taxed, but the government gave you benefits that not only made your life much easier and it's actually stuff you would use, people might be okay with that.

Norway, until recently, was a homogenous country. It has few millionaires due to lack of incentive. As they import problems that further drain the welfare state, things may get interesting.

Of course people would be okay with that. Especially if they're getting stuff that they couldn't afford otherwise by other people paying for it. It's hard not to like wealth redistribution except when you realize it's your wealth being redistributed.

Everybody likes free stuff of some kind, and that's what the government gives. I'm thinking a lot more people would be more open to the idea of higher taxes/getting government stuff if they saw a direct benefit of their tax dollars. Or at least a say in how the government spends it. The "taxed enough already" crowd would quiet down if they knew and saw how they personally benefitted from it, whether it be through services or free stuff. It's understandable to get angry for paying for something and not seeing how it helps you, or worse seeing how it helps someone else and not getting something in return.

I don't want anything I haven't earned. Taking the handout corrupts your soul, makes you a leach. I want the government to defend the country including the borders, develop and maintain infrastructure to promote commerce, and stop propping up losers.

I have 'qualified' for welfare in the past but refused to take a dime even when encouraged to by family. Those who are comfortable with constantly whining for the free lunch should go take a long look in the mirror...but that's not going to happen because it's always someone else's fault or responsibility.

I think hunger would be a good motivator, actual hunger, the kind you get after you have done away with cell phones, extra autos, multiple TVs and cable...

Well that's the MSNBC theory anyway. There is a pool of money that pays for all that stuff. Some people pay in a lot. Some people don't pay in at all. The people who pay in a lot are not getting their money's worth. The people who don't pay in anything are pretty happy with that arrangement. The people in the middle don't realize it's a wash for them.

I think if you're a giver, you should have the most say in how your contribution is spent. If you don't pay anything, well, let's just say it is not just that people who don't pay in at all can vote themselves more money out of everyone else's pockets.

I am in the taxed enough already crowd. I will not quiet down about it. I see how much I pay in taxes: local/state/federal/SSI/Medicaid/sales/property. If the government provided benefits I receive cost THAT much, I'd like to take my business elsewhere. I'm sure there's an enterprising private company that can do it better, cheaper.
