Am I crazy to consider selling my AR15 for something else?

No the AR15. It was forced into the solders hands as their main battle weapon.
It failure rate was so high.
It was adopted to save money but lost many G.I.s lives.

Over the years ive bought and built my collection to 12 AR's. I always did love the arms room. I don't know if that's enough but its like cash on hand when needed.

You could sell it, and buy up as much .22 and 5.56 as fast as possible and sit on it

Yes. Good news is I was able to pickup a LNIB Glock 26 for a good price. I knew as soon as the G43 hit the shelves that a G26 would get traded in. Funny thing is people are trading in the old standby in "carry" guns for the hot new "carry" gun. Best part is the old "carry" gun was never actually carried. Gotta love it.

Good looking rig but nope. I already have an AR with an AimPoint. I own it because it seemed like the thing to do. Same reason I own a pump shotgun with 18" barrel.
