    I have a AK 74 that has had the rails pop off & need to be re-riveted or welded back into place ,is there any that would be recomended in the Fort Wayne area?
    The Ak is in a Gunshop currently & they dont have riveter for the job

    What rails do you mean? The only rivets are on the receiver holding the front trunnion (which holds the barrel), rear trunnion (or whatever is holding the stock), the magazine release, the trigger guard, and the side scope mount, if you have one.

    Don't weld anything that needs rivets. Welds won't flex when the rifle is fired.

    I bet he's talking about the internal lower rails that the bolt carrier rides on.

    pics would be nice. I would also be interested in who built the rifle and what kind of receiver its built on.
