I have a AK 74 that has had the rails pop off & need to be re-riveted or welded back into place ,is there any that would be recomended in the Fort Wayne area?
The Ak is in a Gunshop currently & they dont have riveter for the job
What rails do you mean? The only rivets are on the receiver holding the front trunnion (which holds the barrel), rear trunnion (or whatever is holding the stock), the magazine release, the trigger guard, and the side scope mount, if you have one.
Don't weld anything that needs rivets. Welds won't flex when the rifle is fired.
drgnrobo - If you do mean the bolt carrier rails, then you need someone with a spot welder and a modified tip (and knows what they are doing or you'll get a break, again, or a burn through):
