So a buddy and I are going to be working on a parts kit that I have. He has all jigs and tools needed. I have 1990 Bulgarian AR-M1 kit that is all matching and in excellent shape. I have a couple of questions of when it comes to US made parts. I am probably going to go the finished receiver route as opposed to a flat build. What brand barrel do you guys recommend? What other US compliance parts do you recommend?

I have a kit kit just like the link, and plan on replacing the following with US parts:

Most everyone goes with the Tapco G2. For $40 you've eliminated three foreign parts.

I found the MFT Engage grip to be a good choice. It comes with a variety of front and back straps.

You only need 6 parts replaced for what you are building. I would do these.
    1. FCG (3)
    2. Receiver (1)
    3. Barrel (1)
    5. Pistol Grip (1)

I have always used NoDak spud receivers and had good results. Pistol grip is an easy replacement, however I always opt for the gas piston. Its not too terrible to swap out, and it let's you keep the stock pistol grip. If you are going for a more updated look, the stock PG may not be that important to you though.
