Why? They should have dragged these people out with everyone else. Literally dragged them if needed.

    Lockheed probably wanted another contract.

One of the biggest **** ups this nation ever made was allowing the private sector to manufacture our arms and equipment. Almost nobody else does this.

Random thoughts here, please bear with me.

May 1971: Colonel David Hackworth predicted Saigon would fall in 4 years. His prediction was within 30 days. We don’t have any David Hackworths anymore it seems.

B-52s stopping the taliban. Nearly 50 years ago B-52s stopped the NVA in Operation Linebacker. Christmas 72 the BUFFs brought the NV to the table with Operation Linebacker II. Saigon still fell within 30 days of Hack’s prediction.

paraphrasing Sun Tzu, no State has ever gained from prolonged war. He also said something about not knowing victory if you know neither your enemy or yourself. The Art of War was written 2500 years ago, and Sun Tzu was right.

The incredibly narcissistic and foolish Jenn Psaki (spelled wrong, don’t care) actually uttered something to the extent of the taliban needed to be aware of their role in the international community. Seriously? The enemy is in the 7th century on a good day. If stopping a soccer game to behead someone is a typical Tuesday, they really don’t care about the opinion of the quote-unquote international community.

This spokes-fool was in the Obama administration and interchangeable with the even more annoying Marie Harf (Spelled wrong don’t care.) She once said you couldn’t kill your way to victory. I remember thinking that everyone from Sun Tzu to Curtis LeMay would disagree.

Damn near 20 years. A couple more weeks it’ll be like we were never there. Except they have better equipment now.

The Chi-Coms are playing the long game and playing nice with the taliban. WTF-over?

Too much blood and treasure for a people who are in the 10th century on a good day.

Well we never really left. Still plenty of "secret" special forces and CIA contractors in Afghanistan.

4 days ago American B52's bombed the **** out of Kunduz to "stop Taliban advances" yet the Taliban seized the city moments after the bombing concluded.

From what the Biden admin is saying and doing, it just seems like the establishment is manufacturing consent to destroy the country again.

Yep, gotta do it for women's rights, dontcha know!

Afghanistan is great for defense contractors and the politicians that have stock in their companies. You got a never ending fight especially when congress sets the rules of engagement and ties the hands of the military. If congress allowed the military to do its best it would have been over in a few years at most. Like Vietnam they hold back our military with stupid rules that keep us bogged down.
I for one am sick of Americans playing world policeman, and security guards for large corporations that are making a fortune from natural resources in different countries.

^ that's way China is trying to move in to control the majority of rare earth resources.

Haven`t we learned since 9-11 that everything that goes on in that cesspool in the Middle East can hurt us? Are we so willing to let them organize AGAIN, and come after us?
Like I said tying the hands of the military and not allowing them to do their job is bs. Change policy let the military destroy the enemy by whatever means necessary stop tying their hand because of endangered mice or insects or whatever excuses they use to keep them bogged down. Imagine fighting the Nazis with all these modern rules. We would still be fighting them or maybe lost to them.

We have social worker military units in Afghanistan handing out food stamps and units teaching people how to farm for crying out loud

So let the Chinese sort out the Afghans and let’s arm up the Kurds. Set them up a real state with a real military and they will take care of any jihadi problems when they pop up. It’s in their own best interests to dominate the region that ISIS wants to call home.

our culture is too different to make a meaningful change over their without committing genocide and wiping the slate clean. We will never conquer or colonize it so what’s the point? War on terror gonna go down in history just like the war on drugs.

So is fentanyl so profitable that we're bailing on the opium fields?
My buddies son got deployed over there. He is a Marine. He is in a farm training unit that helped train Afghani farmers how to grow corn, wheat etc. They used the training and other supplies we gave them to produce some of the best poppy fields in their history. He said they don't want to grow food and help their country by supplying food they want to make big money off the poppy they grow.

The hearts and minds campaign that we have been running since Vietnam doesn't work.
