25M for no impact on crime: CTA Cameras And Crime: $26 Million In Hi-Res Cameras Have Helped Solve Crimes -- But Not Curb Them

    The Chicago Way!

This false sense of security by cameras is not just in Sweet Home, Chicago. Last night on the news was a special segment on a public school in Indianapolis that was so proud of their new security system because they have lots of alarms and cameras "to monitor every movement of and attacker". They were really pushing for every school to get a grant to pay for a system like this. Great for having something for the 9:00 news when you report the body count after it is over. A bad guy will continue to do bad things until a good guy lets the air out of him. Flashing lights, cameras, and alarms just makes it more sensational.

The way Chicago has been cooking the books on their crime stats, this incident will be counted as an agricultural or lawn maintenance accident.

Yes, IMTS my first time attending. Fanuc was everywhere. Sumitomo carbide had the best swag. Doing hourly giveaways of shirts, hats, and $1000 product.

As a former IL resident, I wish Chicago would just seperate from the state and make up their own state. They won't let citizens arm themselves, so people will keep getting attacked. If a criminal or gang knows their is no danger to their actions, they will continue committing crimes. Gun or no gun.

Chicago gets so many votes based on their population levels. Meanwhile, people downstate have to follow some of the crap that the Chicago people pass through the legislature. Chicago...cut it loose.

Neighbors told WCBS 880 they couldn’t believe the news about the brazen robbery.“Are you serious? In this neighborhood?” said Sam Futurevictim.
Futurevictim lives right next door and said he didn’t see or hear anything. He also said the robbery doesn’t change his opinion that it’s a safe area to be in.

    Well, that's good news.

This pretty much nails it, I think. My wife's family is from Genoa, a fairly small farming town about an hour or so W/NW of Chicago. Her family is conservative to the core, and can't stand how the densely populated liberal urbanites screw things up for the rest of the state. They would absolutely love it if Chicago would become its own "city-state".

Ah yes the state of Chicago! When the welfare checks stop the city will burn down. Living 60 miles away is way too close.
