686 or GP-100, 4 or 6 inch?

    Have had both 4 and 6 inch barrel 686s, and would recommend the 4 inch. The 6 inch is just too big to conceal for the average person, if that's a concern, and the extra two inches add to an already heavy piece. Ruger GP100 vs Smith 686? Both well built and will last a lifetime if cared for. I'm kinda partial to Smith & Wesson, but at the right price....look on GunsAmerica and GunBroker for a 686-4, which (somebody correct me if I'm wrong) was the last 686 made without any MIM parts and, of course, without that &*%$$ internal lock. Decent ones will list anywhere from 450 to 750, depending on condition and greed.
