Does anyone on here have the ballistic info so I can compare the 44mag rifle round to a 12 gauge slug round? How about downrange accuracy between these rounds? Thanks.
The bottom line is that the shotgun slug is going to impart a whole lot more energy on target. The hard part is getting it out there accurately.
The last loading i was doing for 44 mag rifles still held nearly 1000lb's of energy at 100 yards - certainly enough for Indiana deer.
I've seen several .44 mag rifles that shot 1.5" groups at 100 yards. I've seen shotguns that struggle to shoot 6 inch groups at 100 yards, and others that could shoot 1.5", but only with a certain LOT of a certain BRAND of slug. The owner of that shotgun bought an entire case of them once he found the "magic bullet"
