If Obama wins, get used to $5 gas......

Heard on the radio that the Obama adm. wants the price of gas to be about the cost of green energy. So that we would consider it over gas.

Acording to the report that would place gas at about $6.50 to $7.00 a gallon.

Why he turned down the pipe line from Canada.

This is exactly right Sarge. The price of gas hasn't gone up, the value of the dollar has halved. Inflation is happening everywhere, they just aren't as good at hiding it with the gas. Gas is not included on the inflation index since Carter's?? administration. That way when gas goes up, they can avoid calling it inflation. At any rate, that whats you are seeing. The bernanke is artificially controlling enough of the economy to make it appear that we are ok, but he is racing us toward the cliff faster and faster with each "easing." But the good news Obama got the unemploymetn index below 8%...

I read someplace that gas was 17 cents a gallon in 1933. You could buy a gallon with 2 dimes and get 3 cents change.
Of course, those 2 silver dimes are now worth $6.00, so gas is cheaper than it was in 1933 in real value.
Always remember, the government's share of the price of gas is 7 times larger than the oil company's share. The .gov makes $7 for every $1 the oil company gets.

Also remember, the only way Obama has EVER lowered unemployment is by workers giving up looking for work and leaving the labor force.
It takes 130,000 new jobs each month to keep up with population growth. The U.S has bled jobs since Obama took office and will until he leaves.

Petrol is cheap here. There are quite a few places a gallon is double what we pay, or more. The biggest difference is our lack of quality public transportation and the size of our country creating higher shipping costs.

The reason we have a "lack of quality public transportation" is because a goodly portion of the country doesn't live shoulder-to-shoulder with one another as they tend to do on the East and West Coasts. Public Transportation isn't cost effective because it doesn't provide the flexibility desired by the paying customers. In fact, the only places where "public transportation" does well are in high-density populations where road traffic congestion is such that fitting more personal transportation devices into the traffic is neither cost effective nor timely.

I found the OP first post to be rather slanted against private transportation (who would have guessed that from CNN?). We have petroleum within our national boundaries and we can drill for it and extract it, but a big bottleneck is the EPA and the lack of modern refineries. Rid ourselves of EPA obstructionism, "Drill Baby, Drill", and build more modern refineries and supply will more than meet the demands of a mobile population.

    where the work is
    In 2001:
The average for 1 Gallon of gas was $1.52.
The average for 1 oz of silver was $4.37.
= 2.9 Gallons of gas for 1 oz. Silver.

AS I TYPE THIS RIGHT NOW:
The price for 1 Gallon of gas is $3.81.
The price for 1 oz of silver is $34.51.
= 9 Gallons of gas for 1 oz. Silver.

THANKFULLY gasoline prices haven't kept up with silver values. But what's REALLY lagging far behind are our wages.

A couple of the tell-tale things IMO that have helped to really disguise the devaluing of the dollar "so well" are the rapid technological advances over the last 30 years and the overall dumbing-down of the populace.

We Have our own resources here in this country but "our" oil is being sold as an export! That's right, folks, the United States is an exporter of GASOLINE! The oil companies can make a bigger profit selling in India and China. Overall we use less today than we did 15 or 20 years ago. The economy being soft helps as well. Let us get a real recovery and the economy going red hot and you will see it over $5 a gallon for sure. We should pass a law that Oil exporting is illegal. It belongs to the citizens of this country, doesn't it? :dunno:

    No, comrade, it doesn't!

Unless it is under public lands, which Barack has almost completely closed off, it belongs to those who own the land and/or the rights to the oil under the land.
Private property still exists, despite the Obama Regime.

The real problem is NOT the price of gasoline. As shown in previous posts, gasoline is cheaper now than it has ever been in terms of silver or gold.
The problem is that the dollar is worth less than ever before. Through accounting tricks, the administration hides this fact.

This guy shows for $1000 how to create a gas to CNG hybrid. I am a lousy mechanic so any pros or cons feedback would be appreciated.
There are a couple of CNG stations in Indpls and some companies that will fill it. I wish I had time to try this. Since US has now a large supply of gas this makes sense.

If gas went back to 50 cents a gallon, the first time it hit 55 cents, Americans would ***** about how greedy our oil companies are.

If gas went down to $.50/gal, they'd be *****ing abou how worthless their Priuses and Leafs are and how long the wait is to get a Suburban or Excursion.

I will take a .61 increase over a $1,86 increase anyday. Also, Bush was in office 8 years. Obama managed all of this increase in just 4. Give him 4 more years, we will see $6 gas.

Not picking on just you because a whole lot of people are talking about how the price of gas doubled under Obama, but gas is about thirty cents cheaper now than it was in the summer of 2008. The price of gas dropped sharply when Obama was elected and has been working it's way back up since then.
