Looking to pickup a box or two cuz I like to have ammo on hand for my new 6in ruger. Wondering if you had to pick one ammo which would it be? Hornady, Buffalo bore? Etc.

Thanks! Don’t plan to CC it but would take it with me when I go camping or when the lizard people rise up.

Right now, choices are few and far between, in .357. If you find anything, get it; become picky/ selective later. 158 gr. JSPs are good for deer, 125 JHPs are a good SD choice.

Any 125 gr JHP you CAN find should be good for SD ammo. On the othet end of the spectrum any 158 gr that you can find would be better for critters while in the woods

For hunting, I prefer something 158 gr or heavier. For critters around here, Hornady 158 gr XTP is a decent standby (or XTP loaded by any reputable mfg).

For defense, my preference is the Speer Gold Dot 135 gr +p in 38 special. Mainly because it's one load I can use from 2" 38 snubbys on up, and has less muzzle blast than 357 enabling faster follow-up shots. Actually, think it performs better/more consistently in the longer barrels.

    Good luck finding any.

Believe it or not, I have great luck with MagTech ammo.
Can't say I've seen any in .357 mag lately, but the stuff in .44mag is devastating on deer.
I'm sure it would be likewise on two-legged predators.

I have heard this is a good “all purpose” round.
