    2053! Holy Crap! That's an insane amount. Just think of how much money we spent on those weapons. I thought it was interested that we carried out so many more tests than the Soviet Union in the 1950s. I had assumed they would have had more, partially because of the launch of sputnik. So does this mean that nuclear winter is much harder to cause than previously thought?

    I want to know why we let France do so much testing? Personally I dont think we should have allowed them to have nukes in the first place, but.........

    Most of this was testing of new nuclear weapons during the arms race.
