So the guy has a 2 acre garden?

So, was he in violation the entire 15 years, or was it rezoned recently that put him in violation of the new rules? The news article also says that he was cited for having unpermitted workers there. I wonder how much of the fine is for the workers and how much is for the garden.

"On the other hand, this is where we could be headed if the Monsanto-written, Obama-approved and Congress-passed "food safety" bill is actually enforced."

This is what happens when you have a revolving door in DC, lobbyists, and politicians in high places that dont care about the people.

Monsanto’s man Taylor returns to FDA in food-czar role | Grist

Obama basically signed on this Taylor guy (former Monsanto executive) to be an FDA czar of sorts.

It appears he was in violation for 15 years before the Co. inspector started his crap.

The property owner then had his land re zoned and stopped farming until the rezoning was approved.

Co inspector gets pissed and decides to take the charges off hold.

The "unpermitted workers" appear to be neighbors who volunteered to help the old fellow and take part in his delicious illegal produce harvest.

I was under the impression this law started when Taylor (see above post) took the FDA reigns. Im gonna look up what this former Monsanto executive has been passing the last few years

No, the laws he is being accused of violating are all local laws. The second snippet in the article is pointing out he would face additional penalties (including felonies) under the new monsanto backed bill.
