10mm for deer

Does anyone here have personal experience with hunting deer with a 10 mm handgun? I'm thinking about getting a glock 40 for deer huntinh.

This is like the unicorn of deer hunting I think more people talk about 10mm deer hunting than any other cartridge / animal combo.

I've used my 10mm to finish off deer. The 180gr xtp with 9.5 gr of longshot worked well. I carry different varieties of 10 mm as my hunting sidearm.

Like all situations- right ammo and shot placement you can hunt deer with a lot of different calibers including 10mm. As distance and situations get more challenging your margin of error gets tight with some vs others. 454’ will give you more room for error maybe but if you flinch you give up what you gain. Shoot what you are best at shooting - find the a reasonable loading. I really like 10mm myself and will hunt deer with it.
