I do not know what you mean by "decent trigger," but I have two 10/22s and my boys both have the same model. I have no complaints about the original triggers on any of them. I can't understand the determination to "fix" something that is not broken.:dunno:

BTW, I did install an automatic bolt release on both of mine. Nice improvement.

Just read the posts following your inane question. The VQ bolt release that you bought could have been done at home with a small file.

    Just sayin....

Depends on the rifle...........I think it silly to put a $100 trigger in a $300 rifle.
Esp when things can be improved for way less $.
But if the trigger upgrade was $75 and the rifle alone was $750..........that seems more agreeable.

Heck, I'm fighting the need to work OT to put a Leupold on my .22 rifle. I want a gold ring scope, but I don't
want to work extra for it LOL.

Man a 3-9X EFR would look good on my DSP.

I guarantee is you shell out the money for the better trigger and your groups improve and are more consistent.... you'll do it on your other rifles too.

If you are mechanically inclined and can do trigger work on other guns, you might want to check out some videos and articles and do the work yourself. I have done several and just used factory parts. I can usually get 2 - 2 1/2 lbs with the factory parts. That said, I have a Kidd on one of my builds. It is very sweet.

I just finished doing the Volquartzen target hammer and bolt release mod. The trigger feels a bit better now. Trigger pull was almost 4 pounds and now it's about 2.7 (measuring trigger pull is kinda tricky for me). The bolt release is very nice. This was my first trigger job on a rifle and I found it fairly easy and straight forward. The instruction sheet is printed in a micro sized font without diagrams. I'd recommend printing out a diagram of the trigger group to help you follow along. Here's the link to the kit: Volquartsen Bolt Release Target Hammer Ruger 10/22
