      Late Tax Refund

Good to hear... I think. I had to re-file on paper in August and haven't been able to get any info. I may have next year's return before this year's... Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

Thoughts on a smoker for meat?

+1 for the ease of a pellet smoker. It feels like cheating. Just did some bacon-wrapped venison backstraps last week. So good. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

      Plumbing Question Part Deux.

While I won't say the problem isn't the pipes or tank, my last well in Hamilton county had enough iron that would precipitate in our entirely plastic system that I installed a spin-down filter followed by a sediment filter. I highly suggest the spin-down filter if you don't want to change...

Looks like they are trying to ban 80% lowers

Sounds like a good time to start a business making 75% lowers... Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

      Want to buy some property

I sold our last house word-of-mouth through our neighbor. That was a year ago, and the market may be a little different currently, but the trend I've been seeing lately is that lots of the good stuff is sold without a realtor. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

Primary Arms SLx 1-6x24mm SFP Scope Gen III ACSS-5.56/5.45/.308

Just put one on my 556. Haven't even zeroed it yet, but I think it's going to serve it's purpose well. Clarity is good, but you can tell it's not a $1000 scope at 6x. Don't have anything personally to compare it to, but eyebox does seem pretty generous. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

Masks-no discussion needed. Just vote and see where we really are.

Here's an article that sums it up nicely. Masks work. Cloth is better than nothing. https://www.ucsf.edu/news/2020/06/417906/still-confused-about-masks-heres-science-behind-how-face-masks-prevent. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

      M.2 drive question

Yes. Nvme and PCI aren't exactly the same, but Nvme drives are made to connect to a PCI interface as opposed to going through an SATA interface. I believe Nvme will give you a little better performance, but probably more theoretical than practical. Drive specs will have the biggest impact...

Re-configuring an AR for a collapsible stock and a Red Dot

FWIW, I built a 300 blackout pistol with a Sig Romeo 5 and LAW Tactical folding buffer adapter for just the type of situation you're describing. It fulfilled it's purpose a few weeks back when I carried it in a backpack in an otherwise impermissible (but not illegal) environment. I'm pretty...

Vertical ownership above property boundaries ?

Mom45 got it right. FAA regulates drones, thus they are classified as aircraft. Shooting down an aircraft is a felony as you might imagine. I saw an article the other day from Pennsylvania where someone's drone took a rifle round to the battery pack and was able to return home. Footage of the...

Good offline GPS for smart phones?

Out of curiosity, I just looked again... So (at least in my app) it does have a "terrain" layer. A topo map it is not though. While I've used it for some things in the past, it looks like it's useless for hiking. Following along because I'm curious too... Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

Linux Mint, Cinnamin gurus, a moment of your time please.

Yes, and... If it's old enough to still be running XP, and you're lucky enough that the hard drive is SATA, you might spend $30 and get an inexpensive solid state drive. That would really speed things up, especially since your platter drive is going to be nearing the end of it's useful life...
