      "Traffic Laws" I have observed

Now there you go! I owned a 69 GTO, and miss the sound of that 400 V8, and turbo trans cranking out those horses! Classics for sure!

      "Traffic Laws" I have observed

Can't they raise speed limits in roundabouts to 70mph? Crazy people insist on doing 30 mph or ? and seem to have perfect control of their vehicle?

      A rare aviation sighting!

Years back, I did a walking tour or Wright Patterson AFB Museum. Was really an eye opener as to the sheer sizes of real aircraft, tires, wingspan, engine cowling size, how tall the rear tails stood. Seen some others at Grissom, and also a few of the older WW2 Warbirds flying in and out of...

Holcomb declare emergency ahead of eclipse

So true. Post Eclipse, no big deal in NWI. Except the goofs parking on I65 trying to view, then lanes down to 2 from 4. ok. I went off to go to work on mids, traffic here was bumper, 70 mph, about one car length of gap between cars. Guess what? 90% were Illinois plates, pushing lanes, cutting...

      Firearm cleaning

When i first bought my house, decided to clean my shotgun on Thanksgiving. Wifey came i and said, Oh no, not today and scooped up the cleaners, rags and old towels and put them in my car trunk. I said Yes Dear! Ordered a built shed from Menards on Black Friday, got delivered in couple days, ran...

Holcomb declare emergency ahead of eclipse

Should be interesting. Will keep my gear handy to repel boarders, but mainly going to have cold beverages, and Orville popcorn for the Eclipse. If tv reception falters, or cell phones quit, gues I will sleep thru it.

Holcomb declare emergency ahead of eclipse

Hmmm, Y2K was a flop. Spent all night waiting for excitement, not. Gov is declaring an emergency prior to emergency occuring....LOL. Places gouging for gas and food, and water, that is an emergency! Is National Guard going to force those prices down? C'Mpn Hoosiers, stay frosty and keep spare...

Anyone ever “just find a gun”

In the parking lot of a hunting area of state owned game preserve. Cased and not loaded 12 ga Winchester SG, took to check in office. DNR guys put it behind the counter. Next morning, was deer hunting, and asked the DNR guy if someone claimed it! Yes, about 10 minutes after I turned it in...

      S&W 3rd Gen Semi Autos

Nice score Sailor! I had same model for years, and a 5906 too. Sadly, let both go, and never got over the pain. They are extremely well made, and shoot well to aim. Good luck on yours!

America Is Going to Be Targeted for a Massive Terrorist Attack...Will You Be Ready?

Right on! People think that the event is more important than their personal safety. Gotta add that shopping in the mall is out, exception being food supplies from grocery store. You can wager a solid bet that people are toting hardware and spare mags at most stores. Not saying social isn't...

      18 y/o Handgun purchase

Had a dicey meet up with a guy and didnt disclose his age prior. Illinois car plates, no drivers license to show his residence, but also wanted me to sell to his Mom who clearly was over 21. I declined, had my wife with me, and she has her LTCH, and I did too.(Wife was backup) No thanks to the...

      What is your carry gun?

I guess the G45-5 is my fav. Also tote around either a 5 shot snubbie, or a Kahr CM9.(Mostly pocket carry smaller models). Sometimes, nostalgia hits me, and I break out my S&W M10-5 , 4in tapered bbl. couple speedloaders, and Bianchi #7 pancake rig to holster. Not on the vote list, except under...

Why does this torture me so?

Being in NW Ind, an order sent to Indy, then my town, gets here in a couple days. I ordered something from Elk Grove , Il, and it went to Mississippi before it got to Indy. After Indy, 2 days , it got here. Took 10 days to go to Mississippi though. Found a place in Ft Wayne that had my item...

Reliable places to buy used guns?

Yep, new is expensive. Pre owned is little cheaper, broke in, and usually safe. Most of mine are pre owned, in great shape, no issues. Mostly owned, hardly fired. Bought a M10 S&W revolver back in the mid 80's, had some bluing wear from holster, lock up was tight, no end shake. Still have it...

A lot of good points brought forward. Yes as a LEO, you do alter your lifestyle for your job. The demands are many, less rewards, in rough times, and sometimes you can do some good where you can. I've been told you are in a fishbowl of life, and everyone watches you swim around. The video...

What is the most reliable handgun for Self Defense under $400

Good thread reply! I like the GP100 series, built to last. Carried an SP101 for a bit too. A little heavy vs an Airweight J Frame. Both are well made. Loved those Stainless guns.

What is the most reliable handgun for Self Defense under $400

Nice score! There are some that think 40 cal is going away, but I know guys who carry them daily. I carried one for over 5 years and no problem or complaints. You learn to shoot them well. That is a great price for a great firearms
