Thank you for the rep! I don't understand it either. I can only assume it's because we have been conditioned to believe that soldiers are lean mean killing machines and to use a knife to slaughter the enemy is like scoring a "killing spree" in Halo. Of course, the media doesn't report the real side of combat. I've been there and seen what he's talking about but America doesn't want to believe it happens. A shame but none the less it's fact. Again, thank you.
no joke, it seems the new economic mentality is "create a solution then find/create a problem for it." All men are created equal they don't always end equal, and people forget that.
Thanks for the rep. I think alot of this type of stuff is just like the Internment camp ideology of they look different they must all be evil. It just seems stupid.
Yup!
That would be nice. Too many times the good guys get lumped in with the bad guys. It's like saying that a Black guy held up a gas station, so all Black guys are criminals.
Not true!! Never will be!! Each person has to be taken at his/her face value.
Not placed into a certain group because of their job, skin color, religion, etc.
I see your point. When I joined the PD we were considered to be the Citizens friends.
In fact, I wasn't called a "pig" to my face until I'd been on the street for a couple of years. I simply told the guy that he was entitled to his opinion, as I wrote out his ticket.
I talked to him several times over the years and he apologized for his actions. He said he just had to grow up some to realize that I wasn't the Boogyman, just another working stiff trying to do my job.
IMO
What is needed are more young people who are willing to put up with the status quo until they have enough time in LE to make some changes.
Nothing will change as long as people "Don't want to put up with the hassle" and just crab about what's going on.
I'm not giving you Hell.
I'm just making an observation.
(Maybe I'm too blunt sometimes, but that's me. )
I'd love to! The problem is that my "Old School" approach to Law Enforcement doesn't fit into the "Modern" idea that Officer Discretion leads to favoritism. We called it "compassion", not "favoritism". Back "In the day" it wasn't uncommon to follow the "Town Drunk" home to make sure he didn't hurt anybody.
Today that would get an Officer suspended, or fired.
