Hawaii Supreme Court declares that Heller and Bruen were wrongly decided and the state's right to bear arms isn't an individual right.

"We read those words differently than the current United States Supreme Court. We hold that in Hawaii, there is no state constitutional right to carry a firearm in public."

The state supreme court has declared itself to be above the United States Supreme Court.

They're not judges, they're tyrants in Hawaiian shirts.

I've seen the modern version of it in artillery (direct fire mode for the defense of an artillery position) and tank rounds. It ain't pretty, an extremely gross understatement, and it's something you'll never be able to un-see after you've seen what it's done to what used to be combatants in the battle space. You just don't think about it often -- it gets compartmentalized into a special mental space reserved for such things. The movie about it called it the "Hurt Locker".

This is very good news. We need the insanity.
You know the 9th Circuit will uphold it . . . and they'll rip it out of the merit panel's hands en banc if the merit panel is deemed to be too conservative and 2A leaning, so it's on to SCOTUS hoping they take it up when petition for a Writ of Cert hits them.

They should already know this is going to be overruled. Won't the SCOTUS ruling in this case totally destroy all current carry laws in Hawaii once they rule?

    9th Circuit???
If I understand the appellate process correctly, that's where it will eventually land, with a SCOTUS cert. decision up to SCOTUS. Now that the state courts have been exhausted, the question becomes a U.S. Constitutional one actionable in the Federal Courts under the 2nd and 14th Amendments. Guaranteed the Federal District Court in Hawaii will uphold Hawaiian Supreme Court, and then the 9th Circuit will do likewise. That's if the poor slob who's been fighting this since 2017 can continue to press on with appeals. It's been grinding onward for seven years now.

As an aside, the 9th Circuit should have been split in two long, long ago.

For the same reason Biden passed that unconstitutional immigration EO at the beginning of his term.
"I know this isnt going to stand, but if we can buy 4 weeks or so, so be it. its better than nothing." (paraphrased)

I say scratch that 50th star and make them an independent nation again. No federal dollars, nothing.

Hope you dont get invaded.

I was impressed by a M-48 tanker‘s description of using beehive rounds in Vietnam. They once found a VC sitting on the ground, leaning back against a tree. Every piece of flesh between his neck and his pelvis was missing; just ribs and spine were left.
