Totally agree, but wonder if Lucas is the spectacle we need to further our cause to normalize 2A self defense?
I don't see the problem. "Students Demand Action" are as boorish and irrational as their "Moms Demand Action" parent org. Their primary complaint was that they didn't "feel safe" at the mere site of a holstered firearm. Exposing that level of irrationality and hoplophobia is a good thing.

I'm not a fan of him opening his jacket, but I'm the context of the discussion it appears he was simply making a valid point.

From my perspective the larger problem is a youth population unable to know, understand, or fulfill their responsibilities as citizens (militia).

The interaction should inform our legislators that changes need made to ensure our youth are knowledgeable and capable with arms as they enter into adulthood.

I pity the young lady if the quotes I've seen are accurate. Sounds like she needs some help.

He knows my thoughts on that (as does @KellyinAvon over in the Legislative Session thread). They align with my thoughts on a state with a budget surplus and an R supermajority raising gas taxes.

Jim seems to be about Jim? Less and less about those who he represent?

Maybe he has always been that way, yet was superceded by the victories on the 2A he helped us "win" ?

The culture war is going to be ugly. People need to stop fearing it. Jim was fine here. The kids looked foolish. The hyperventilating, salacious reporting of the encounter reads like foolishness.

100% agree. Those kids are idiots. But Lucas is still no better. With his past history he needs to use discretion on what he does. He should have know anythi g he says to groups like that will be blown out of proportion. Why give them the ammo? He could have said you walk and stand by countless people with a weapon everyday and you'd never know. I am probably just more biased against him admittedly cause of his love of raising taxes doing nothing to stop the governor on shut downs and talking down to his constituents. I wa some before the lines got redrawn. And way he'd respond if he even bothered to was terrible.

Agreed, but does this help us with the 2A or hurt our cause?

Do we win this encounter or lose ground from it?
We have gay "marriage" when homosexuals pranced and showed out at things like the IU Homecoming parades. Apparently normalizing behaviors some people find repugnant works. (If I were to take on the role of devil's advocate).

So repugnant is the approach we need to take to maintain and advance the 2A?

Are the reps allowed to carry there via a codified exemption, or do they carry because nobody is going to tell them they can't? IDK. The "fear", if it even truly existed, was self induced. Lastly, aren't these kids supposed to be in school?

The general assembly is exempt. Just them apparently. That's another annoying thing they do. Putting themselves above the common man like when they exempted themselves from. The governors mask mandate
