If they're in the evidence locker, in light of the present conversation, I would say the new member is offering support to the OP.

ALSO, welcome to bulletbill86! (Unsure how to tag)

To tag a user type @ and then start typing the username (no space between). as you type slowly, after a few characters it will start suggesting users.

If I can get 96 back from the man ... then anyone should be able to get one ?
Point is ... keep up the fight ... I was told to give up and quit by people just like this Creedmoor... and I won and you can too
    It's a mindset ....
Except one size does not fit all here.

At 96 pieces, you can "afford" to spend a couple grand on a lawyer to get back your sizeable stash. It makes financial sense.

But it does NOT make sense for me to do it for my $500 pistol. Spending $2,000 in attorneys fees to "win" against the city isnt really a win for me, is it? (theoretically speaking. They dont have anything of mine)

thats just it ......didnt need a lawyer and didnt use one .....it didnt cost me a dime ...just time .... and i believe its up to the OP if its worth time or money too them ... question though .... what side are you on?

I dunno, ether way. The IMPD administrative core needs to be -much- easier to deal with. The rank and file guys on the street are good guys. But it should not take a lawyer or 50 trips by yourself to get them to release property to people. And this just doesn't mean firearms. The amount of crap they have piled up is staggering. Half of it is in the CCB basement or sub basement.. and the weird crap is out in Warren Township.. And then there is the disaster that is Autoreturn..

The replica German Wehrmacht bike with sidecar still cracks me up...

It makes sense if you want the problem actually fixed.

Costing the city money over the issue is the only way it will be fixed. Violating people's rights should cost the city money.

That's the issue with fighting "The Man" they have more resources so we just sit back and get screwed and say, well that's the way it is.

it should be easier. but its set up for them to win by default.. i only made 2 trips to the CCB. it was mostly calling and calling .. you get one person who tells you no and offers no help 100x and then you get one that gives you a number or name to the higher up ect and you call them and with some effort and endurance you eventually get your things back. Let me tell you far more than the value of the item , is the value of the feeling you get from winning and seeing through what is right ......PRICELESS

Well, I AM a staff member and moderator volunteer working on behalf of the board owner. So kinda. Creed is well, Creed. He's rather opinionated. :):
lol what does that mean ? threat?
It means you are new, and until you have had a chance to get to know folks, you might want to tone down accusations about a board member's intentions, alliances, etc. You dont walk into somebody's home and immediately start speaking freely until you have been there long enough to read the room, understand who everyone is, etc.

There have been a few folks who came through the door swinging, spewing very opinionated thoughts to the point of being offensive to some. They didnt last more than maybe a week or two.

And you'll probably see there are a few more that get rather pointed in their comments. Notice how many years and how many posts they have. While they may have some rather pointy comments, by and large you will find they have an overall good demeanor and everyone knows who they are and where they are coming from, and can take those pointed comments with a grain of salt.

So the only way to fix this is for the state government to make a law strictly forcing law enforcement to return firearms within x amount of time?
that would be nice ... but what i found is they use other tactics ... like one of the reasons i couldnt pick up my firearms is because the detective on the case had a hold on them. so i had to get the hold off by calling his superiors until they got tired of me and made him take the hold off. Which is a dirty tactic that they are allowed to do, even with no reason for doing so . i still dont know why he had a "hold" on them. you would think they would have to a least give a reason?

    Been there done that myself.
My time is worth a bunch more than a M&P 9mm.
Again, you're not talking apples for apples.

so if i would have said one firearm instead of 96 it would be apples to apples ,,, its just a different number and a positive reinforcement..
thats it. too many people these days have a not worth it ,,give up attitude .....

No threats at all. Just letting you know you are coming off rather coarse and combative (for someone here less than a week and fewer than 10 posts). Just advising you to be aware of your tone, that is all. lf mods see somebody show up and immediately get into it with others, maybe this isnt the place for them. Not saying that is the case for you... yet.

And this place requires rather thick skin. So be prepared to not get offended easily.

With that being said, I hope you find your stride and stick around. Lots of GREAT people here. Hope you turn out to be one of them.

    OK I'll field this one.

INGO is not like other places on the Internet. It's not just an avatar when you know the people in the realz. A lot of us know each other.

Like anywhere else, group dynamics comes into play. Forming, storming, norming, performing not only rhymes, but it's very true.

Also, a lot gets lost when communications are not face-to-face.

As far as "good ole boys" running things, those days are long in the past here. While the staff is predominantly male, 20% of the staff is @mom45 who is definitely not a good ole boy.

Those of us who have been here for years have seen a lot. Some folks I've expected to not last long have been here for years. Some folks who I'd had very good and cordial conversations with? Implode without warning.

Stick around, this bunch will grow on you. A big dysfunctional family, but it's OUR big dysfunctional family.

i have very thick skin .. it seems to me im not the one with an issue .. it more seems to me that its a bully situation at its highest
anyway i want to thank everyone for the great experience
