    Yes I am a pirate...
Born a hundred years too late.
    The cannons don't thunder,
    There's nothing to plunder,
I'm an over forty victim of fate.
    Arriving too late.
    Arriving too late.
There's plenty to plunder. If you doubt that just go to any of the big red cities that don't even bother with arrests if you steal less than a grand from any individual store. And even if you do get arrested accidently the DA won't prosecute. And even if he does the judge will turn you loose. Especially if you're an illegal alien with multiple felonies on your record. (Nice poem, though!)

You can get a "Traditions" kit for around $350. I bought the CVA version of the sa.e kit in .45 about 30 years ago and hunted deer with it. Of course back then it was a LOT less expensive. For $350, I can buy a real rifle.

I'd say perfectly fine so long as there is no rust, etc.

But bear in mind one BP factory just announced it was shutting down. So your BP costs will probably go up. The safety issues/regs of BP over smokeless, combined with the relative lack of use, (and now a crap economy) is really putting a strain on the industry.

So tread lightly if you want to buy new.

For years ive wanted to get a Kentucky long rifle. But I can't see to find any at a decent price. Which means they are over priced or I'm under valuing them?

I don't need anything fancy. Just something that will go boom in .50 caliber.

What should a reasonable one go for? What am I looking for what should I avoid?
Build your own, these look like high quality from everything I’ve read. The kit is not cheap and goes up with the grade of wood you pick.

I've got a Kibler. A couple of my friends shoot them in competition. The quality is there.

I'm going to sound like a cheap ******* here. I have a hard time paying $800+ for a kit musket when I could prob build an AR for that.

It wouldn't have a double set trigger though (nor would it be a musket)!
