The Great Santini is a great movie, but can be disturbing to say the least. Robert Duvall is simply outstanding as a borderline psychotic.
He portrays someone that has a severe case of Marine Corps. on the brain.

I watched the filming as this movie was made. I was stationed on MCAS Beaufort S.C. at the time.

One point to consider. As you watch this movie, keep in the back of your mind that this movie is based on a true story. Santini was a Marine Corps. fighter pilot, and the story was told because of his military prowess, but also to impart the troubled side of this man.

I think you'll enjoy it, but I also bet you'll not soon forget it!

You are diplomatic in your arguments, and civil in your demeanor. I applaud you for this!
