I was looking for a pound of powder last week and came across a full jug of unique. I forgot all about it and was all giddy and warm inside after my discovery. My general use load for 44 magnum with 240 grain cast lead bullets is 8 grains of Unique, used it for over 40 years. Consider yourself lucky if you have some Unique, it's not as common as it used to be.
I can't imagine that I'd enjoy a 255 grain load for target... Mostly for the imaginary bears in NW Indiana. Or real ones , if I ever move west.Good load for what? Punching paper or other?
Luck has nothing to do with it. I remember the fiasco of looking for powder and ammo during Obama years... When I found some during Trump, I bought it. It's a very versatile powder. I can load all my handguns and some of my rifles (with gas checks) with it. It's not the best for magnum loads."Consider yourself lucky if you have some Unique, it's not as common as it used to be."
^^^Yep, Unique and Bullseye can be hard to find nowadays??..Bill
250 Gr lead is what I shoot for practice and if I'm not mistaken 8 GR of Unique..I can't imagine that I'd enjoy a 255 grain load for target... Mostly for the imaginary bears in NW Indiana. Or real ones , if I ever move west.
