My general use load for 44 magnum with 240 grain cast lead bullets is 8 grains of Unique, used it for over 40 years. Consider yourself lucky if you have some Unique, it's not as common as it used to be.

I was looking for a pound of powder last week and came across a full jug of unique. I forgot all about it and was all giddy and warm inside after my discovery.

^^^Yep, Unique and Bullseye can be hard to find nowadays??..Bill
Luck has nothing to do with it. I remember the fiasco of looking for powder and ammo during Obama years... When I found some during Trump, I bought it. It's a very versatile powder. I can load all my handguns and some of my rifles (with gas checks) with it. It's not the best for magnum loads.
