For years now I have been wondering about Melchizedek.
I think He is one of the great mysteries.
    Anyone have the same problem?

The only verses are, (Genesis 14:18–20; Psalm 110:4; Hebrews 5:6–11; 6:20—7:28)

    Ask, and ye shall receive.

I guess I am in the minority. I have enjoyed seeing those commercials vs the worldly stuff that fills the rest of the commercial spac3

This is going viral it seems...newly minted Christian and Hoosier Kat Von D front and center....

That's a great video and I'd watch his other stuff, but I have a strict rule: If the video title / thumbnail / ad (what do you call it?) has the "influencers" picture plastered on it -- hard pass.

I had to look up Kat Von D - no offense to your lovely bride, but see looks like your type. :):

Operation Rescue was a movement of Christians who would either pray in front of abortion clinics or put their bodies to be arrested at the front doors of the abortion centers back in the 80' and 90's. Some of the top leaders were willing to take a stand and spend time in jail. The majority were arrested, fined and or charges later dropped. This was civil disobedience and trying to bring to light that abortion was murder....or is it? Being involved somewhat with this movement I was sad to see the church and many christians completely hard hearted about abortion. Church people many who were actually prochoice, others could care less if woman killed their babies, others even pastors literally saying where in the Bible is abortion wrong. If every christian had stood up and joined in by the thousands just like a football game I still believe politicians would of got off their butts and done some changes. But it didn't happen that way. I remember one rescue, where a woman showed up to abort her baby and saw a crowd of people being arrested for blocking the door. She asked what was happening and a prayer warrior and counselor told her why. She turned around and went home since the clinic had been closed. Later in time that same woman came back to the clinic and found the person she had talked to. She said that morning she came for a abortion, but afterwards thought these people were so concerned with this I had to think about what I was doing to my baby. They changed my mind and I'm keeping my baby, thank you and thank them. Proverbs 24:11 is a powerful scripture that was in the hearts. I will not judge these people in TN, I will ask what have I done, and not done.

DOOOOOOD! As mentioned before, hit the enter key periodically!

Walls of text are hard to read and many of us will just skip it rather than try to make heads or tails of it. Which of course kinda makes your effort a waste of time in a way if it doesnt get read.

Protip: If you happen to be using dictation, you can still do it. At least on the iPhone, if I say newline ("New line" spoken quickly with zero pause between the words) it will move the cursor down one line.

So when you are ready to do a new paragraph say "newline newline" and that will give you the space you need to help us with poor eyesight actually take the time to read the words you took the time to share with us.

I guess I am too dense to understand the negativity over them.

I didn't see any other commercials that night that mentioned Jesus.

    In the country, hopefully.
So...I'm leaving the Lutherans. Not because I want to but because my wife and kids need to go somewhere else. :-(

Well, that was a good two years of being saved.
Yeah. I can sit through sermon after sermon about a "personal relationship with God" easier than my wife can deal with the real presence in communion.

:( Just sucks to go back to Jesus Hates Me This I Know.
Your posts confuse me and I’m genuinely interested in knowing why you say these things.

You won’t be saved anymore because your not going to a certain church?

And why do the other churches give off the ‘Jesus hates me’ vibe?

    What am I missing?

Apologies and thanks I will try to do that in future. I just type off my little phone. Sometimes I type more than I think I will. I try and figure out my phone for paragraphs but so far not smart enough.

lol...both of their parents hail from Argentina and they both decided to settle in southern Indiana......

"Katherine von Drachenberg (born March 8, 1982), known professionally as Kat Von D, is a Mexican-American tattoo artist, television personality, entrepreneur and recording artist."

"Mexican American" lol...uh no...her mom and dad are Argentinean and were doing missionary work in Mexico when she was born lol....

A lot of backstory. Let me catch you up! :D

I am a born and raised Baptist. Traditional Baptist soteriology is (no offense, JK :D) trash.

Basic Baptist soteriology holds the incongruent position of both "once saved, always saved," but no real assurance of salvation other than that you prayed a prayer that one time. So, how do you know you are going to heaven? You prayed the prayer and meant it. Well, if I meant it, then why do I not feel saved? This cannot stand. Also, if you prayed the prayer and meant it at the time, what happens if you fall back into sin? That is where Baptists invent weird things like backsliding and rededicating your life to Christ and alter calls and all sorts of things. I can't live in a state of no assurance of my salvation other than my works, which are like filthy rags but also somehow mean I'm saved. Traditional Baptist theology is oddly close to Catholicism without the Pope and Mary.

This led me to a more logical religion, Reformed Baptist. Reformed Baptists have at least a logical consistency. Either you are in or out; there is nothing else. If you are in, you know you are in. Well, I knew I wasn't in, so I had to be out, and there was nothing I could do to get in because Jesus hates me (He may love you, but He hates me). This sucked, but I could at least accept it. Life sucks, then you die and go to Hell, but hey, it is what it is. I still wanted to be saved, but it isn't my choice.

Then, I found Lutheranism. Lutheranism is great. It does not have assurance of salvation. Baptism saves you. Forgiveness and salvation are found in the Body and Blood of Christ at communion. The word of God, mixed with the water of Baptism and pronounced with the forgiveness of sin in communion, gives you salvation. You can abandon salvation any time you want by walking away (as I am doing). Also, if you go to heaven, it is because God chose you, but your default state is Hell, and you get that by your own choice (walking away).

Thus, I am going to Hell because I am leaving salvation.

I hope that helps; let me know if you have any other questions about it, as this was the quick, 10,000-foot overview.
