I don't think they're not voting for Jordan because they're butthurt. I think they are butthurt. But I also think they're not voting for Jordan because they think he's not one of them.
Well if we look at the voting record of the winner as compared to Jordan and McCarthy is that a good barometer of how conservative they are? If they are near Jordan but win that would be personal?

Gaetz should nominate Hank Johnson, the "Guam gonna sink" guy.

That would be some entertainment right there, I'll tell ya.
Yeah, Hank! He was concerned that Guam would tip over, because islands are like bobbers. What a an absolute idiot that will keep getting elected over and over. I will give the Admiral credit for telling him that he didn’t foresee that happening instead of calling him a ****ing moron like he was probably thinking.

Donalds has an excellent voting record according to Conservative Review, but does he have what it takes to be a good Speaker?

I think whoever is chosen needs to be somebody that has been there, built up connections, and can ride herd over their own party.

Say what you will about Nancy Pelosi but she was quite able to keep her own members in line enough to get what she/they wanted done. She was able to cut deals behind the scenes to make the democrats do what she wanted. She'd made the deals over the years and collected favors.

You need a republican with the same political strength to do the same or it will be, in George Carlins words, "a Mongolian Cluster**** with everyone going in their own direction. Until the next election.

Oh yeah, and you have to change the rules back to what they were before McCarthy was elected speaker.

    Regards,

    Doug

They need to elect the black Guy. I assume that would be a first.

That's great for a laugh, but he's my first choice. Maybe the only one.

Hinging on the black thing, what a better leader pick than having Jeffries calling Donalds a MAGA Republican?

That is of course, if we don't get a resurgence of support to bring Trump in as Speaker. Trump would be the best, if they would just let him do it.

    :)

By the time an officer has reached flag rank, he (or she) has at least become a partial political animal.
There's no way to avoid it.
And, that flag officer, is going to know not to insult those that hold the purse strings.

Assuming they haven't witnessed something real bad, and snap.

They had the closest to this with Jordan, but the Republican uni-party left was determined to not allow it.
The Republicans would rather have House leadership that is just "go along to get along" with the House Democrats.

YET, as hard left as the Democrat House leadership is, the Republicans need House leadership who are as hard to the right as the Democrat leadership is to the left.

IF NOT, things will just continue shifting to the left as the House Democrats keep whittling away at our liberties from weak Republican leadership.

I wasn’t joking. there are a lot of reasons for it. I love the optics of all the Dems voting against the historical first black Speaker. Bunch of ****ing racists! We won’t have to hear the media fawning all over the Dems’ black guy being the first in a few years and how it shows that Republicans are all racist.

It's a damn shame that all they care about is who gets in the history books first.

Ah. So we’re looking for a corrupt leader. Shouldn’t be too hard to find.

Nancy had dirt on all of them. Was the person if you wanted to get rich in stock trading you went to. And you want a conservative Republican doing the same…? That’s why we are where we are today. They are corrupt, there is no good dealings going on. Borrow and spend must be maintained until the total collapse.

This is an absolutely infuriating circumstance these spineless twits have found themselves in. Voters gave them the MAJORITY and they are running around divided and bowing to the will of the left??? My God! Pull yourselves together and get it done for crying out loud.

This is the seat that is third in our formal government...and they sent the 'President' to visit a country at war? What would happen if the VP were to take the reigns? Have they completely missed the obvious danger this puts our republic in??? This needs to be settled and these grown adults need to put on their big boy/girl pants and stop bickering and get back to work. If they were my CHILDREN I would have exercised the 'rod of correction' by now, the fact that they actually believe themselves to be adults and PROFESSIONALS taxes their grasp on reality! They are certainly beginning to give weight to the theory of Washington being nothing but Dems and Rinos.
The voters gave them a very thin majority. To scuttle a bid for speaker it only takes 5 no’s if the other party votes no. The squad had become quite disgruntled with Pelosi. If Democrats had such a narrow lead I suspect they might make such a play.

It’s really hard these days to draw a distinction between establishment democrats and the socialist democrats, but the socialist democrats don’t like the establishment. They want their ****ing revolution. They play nice as long as they’re appeased, but I thinknif they had such an opportunity to play this game they might.
