Yes they did. They voted in HAMAS as their political representation (probably), and have done nothing that the rest of the world sees to fight against them. Rather, they teach their children to throw rocks at Israeli soldiers.

If you guys think the 2020 US election was fishy, wait till you dig into ”democracy” in the occupied territories...it looks a lot like theatre.

The last “election“ was (IIRC) some 15 years ago, the average age of Gaza residents today is (reportedly) 19.

The average Gaza resident has voted in between 0 and 1 elections…and that assumes those votes even counted toward the results in the first place.

Whether or not they individually, personally support Hamas, the average Gaza resident has had no opportunity to remove them legally once they assumed power.

I don’t think it is entirely fair to accuse Gaza residents of unequivocally supporting Hamas when no mechanism exists to remove them or to escape their rule.

Hamas has Gaza convinced that Israel is their enemy, but Hamas (and their ilk) have actually caused the lion’s share of suffering, destruction, and death visited upon the Gaza Palestinians in my lifetime.

I have no sympathy for Hamas, but I do feel bad for those Gaza residents, especially the children, who got caught in the middle of a violent situation that was never in their control to avoid.

There is ALWAYS a way to remove one that's in power.
