I just bought a six-pack of canned chicken from Costco...Kirkland brand. Price was attractive for the size of the cans compared to Walmart, Meijer, etc. Basically 75 oz (12.5 oz per can) for $16.

I haven't tried it yet, but the cans themselves seem a little thin. By that I mean, the cans seem to be made of a thin metal...squeezable to some degree. I tried to squeeze some other cans I had on hand (beans, vegetables, etc.) and they seemed more squeeze resistant.

    Anyone else have this experience?

    .
Canned chicken is a good item to have around, it gets used in a number of different meals here. I wouldn't worry about the thin metal of the can. The lining is very flexible in cans and really is the only thing contacting the food.

We've had it in the past, but never squeezed the cans.

While there today, I noticed the cans of SPAM cost more than the cans of roast beef.

I think Kroger's is like $6.99 IIRC. Never been to Costco or Sam's.
I don't remember what Costco charges for it, but it's in large containers, and runs like $20 or more.
I can't eat that much, so we don't buy it, but I'll do a couple drive-by's when they have the samples.

Sam’s chicken is a bit more but it seems to be a bigger chicken and a bit tastier. There is often a line waiting for them to come off the rotisserie, at least during high volume shopping times. I usually try to get a hot dog combo before I shop so I don’t buy all the good looking food that I don’t need! They also have small bags of sauerkraut, cups of onions and plenty of mustard to top the dog with! Can’t beat it for $1.50! Had the pizza combo today when I picked up my prescriptions.

What? I'm talking about the little single rotisserie chickens. I can't imagine one of those coming in a large container. :):

$150 seems high for a hot dog, kraut, onions and mustard not withstanding! :faint:
