I want to like these, but I still don't like the feel/balance of a poly framed pistol, I want a metal frame in this same configuration. Kinda like the old 84's but in 9mm rather than .380.

I'm just not a fan of plastic. Maybe it's due to my experience trying to repair cars over 30 years old and see what happens to almost any type of plastic over time, it breaks down and gets very brittle.

I'm sure I'm wrong on this, how have the original Gl***s plastic held up after 40 years? Anyone have one still in good condition? Any signs of degradation?

Not the same environment as an auto I know since pistols are usually left to bake in hot sun for most of their lifetime and I'm sure plastic on pistols survives much better.

Yeah, I'm and old fuddy dud and prefer traditional steel/wood firearms over anything poly.

You want a Beretta Cougar then..

The Cougars are literally PX4 in metal, the mags even swap

Beretta gave the Tooling to Stoeger when finished with it, and you can find those.

I like that, and it's pretty low cost at only $450? Seems almost too good to be true. I wonder why so inexpensive. Maybe because it's not the new hotness? Are Stoegers any good?

I dont know about other Stoegers, but Beretta took the Italy tooling to make the pistols to some place like Turkey and set it up there for Stoeger to use. (Stoeger is owned by Beretta)

I wish that one day there will be a factory optics cut for the Px4 model. Sending the slide to LTT take a while and is a pretty expensive service. Probably not on Beretta or Stoeger plans. I am excited for the 80X Cheetah though.

Awhile back we were discussing the Israeli Mossad and how they use a Beretta 22lr for their assassinations, also Israeli sky Marshall's use them as well. I can't remember the model.
I'll try to look it up later.

    Edit: Found it.

I wonder if the slide will blow up like the M9 did when the goobermint armed our troops with it. Like a car….don’t be a company’s beta tester. ;)
The PMX has been in Italian Army hands for years, and others, for years... design is a decade old, were just slow to get it.

The original M9 failures were cause by ammo pressure in excess of the design of the pistol. Try that with any pistol and see if you have a face left. Beretta responded with a redesigned hammer pin that would keep the slide on the frame in the event of frame failure. No problems since using the correct ammo and the FS fix.

Well, everything has tolerances. Ammo, pistols, rifles…… find one at the bottom, one at the top, combine them….boom, maybe.

Yeah I was going to say, you can blame Olin Brass for the screwups with the M9

    ???
The brass was the problem? So much so it blew up steel? Guess I missed that engineering class…..
No.. Olin Brass makes the ammunition, army ammo isn't branded with the Winchester Logo.

The ammo was found to be loaded far too hot.

Look at the back of a box of Winchester ammo, you will see an Olin Brass logo

No.. Olin Brass makes the ammunition, all parts of it under the "Winchester" brand.

So, someone put military spec ammo in the M9 and the slide blew off and it was the ammo’s fault? They modified the heat treatment of the slide, made modifications to the locking block, came out with the “FS” and never changed the pressure of the ammo…..but it’s the ammo’s fault? Okay…….smh
