I have a lot of bats at my place....but I felt no guilt whatsoever when I evicted 27 of them from behind the eaves of my house (I counted).
Probably good to get rid of them. My neighbor had some bats get into his attic, not 27 of them but just a few. They were there a while I guess and it turned out one of his daughters was allergic to them. They had to clean out the whole attic and replace all the insulation and sanitize it somewhat. They had to seal it as much as possible to prevent that from happening again. It ended up being expensive.

    Almost forgot the funny pic.

The bats at my place did not get into any space where people could go, but we could hear them in there. We didn't harm them, just made it impossible for them to get back in when they left.

Not hilarious, but video of a bat I found earlier under some tar-paper on a shed. It was about 40 degrees and he did not like moving at that temp. He did fly away later in the day when it was a bit warmer.
