Knights pancake breakfast was a hit. Wife is back & scrapbooking in her room downstairs. Extracurricular to follow. :grabass:Dad is safety back home. Got some filters changed out. Fridge one was from May...whoops. It's bourbon:30 and relaxing. Any pics of Larry 30 yards away eating? :postpics:
You weren't there and still knew Larry's seating arrangements.

All those people, and we forgot a group photo.

Then again, I guess it's better to forget the phone, and eat and chat with friends, than to live by the phone

    Wait.
City of Chicago maintains the grounds.
    And the grounds suck.

    Oh no.
I find that hard to believe.

    Or, very easy.
    Everything Chicago touches, dies.

Nothing special there either. 9mm going for $20+ per box. 1 vendor had a case of 556 marked $900...lol. Seems like if your looking for new then hit the actual gun dealers but of looking for private sales everything is $200 more than retail.

I did see small pistol primers for $75. Brand I've never heard of but vendor did have around 30k of them for sale
I honestly think i'm done with the shows after going to both of them this weekend. There are now more flippers and scaplers than real vendors. I saw AE 5.7x28mm for $60 a box from one vendor. The rest seem to have it at $45. I bought it for $29 last month. I currently see it for $31. Guess i'll order another case. Old generic single shot shotguns with no finish left and beat to death stocks for $300. All the old guys trying to fund their retirement by selling other old guys smith revolvers for absurd amounts of money before all of them are put in homes and their kids sell their **** or give it away.

Was valpo better or both equally bad? I haven’t been to a gun show in probably 10 years and the last one I went to was valpo and it was at the beginning of my journey so I didn’t know what I was looking at or that those would be the “good times” now lol

Valpo is always a better value for the $6 by default because it is so much more infrequent, seems bigger, and has a wider selection of "stuff". Personally, i was shopping for AR parts and the selection at both shows was terrible. I had cash in my pocket to buy a gun should i have ran across something, but i was not looking very hard. Don't need any more tupperware guns. Revolver pricing is a joke, not that i need another, but you know how that is. Shotgun selection is either terrible or insanely priced unless you want a mossy.

You're not wrong about any of it. Valpo has been the best show in the area for decades but like anything else, it gets worse each iteration. I look almost exclusively for 'older' guns,...not old guns but not new guns,....and I saw nothing. I like the DAO Smith autos and I did see two there but I've seen those same two for at least 6 or 7 yrs. The exact same two guns,....what does that tell you?

On my ammo list for the last couple of yrs has been .22Mag. I keep buying guns chambered in that rd but my ammo supply hasn't kept pace so I'm always looking. CP and Elkhart are the two shows I've been to most recently and .22Mag is universally $25-$30 per box of 50. That's well beyond insane. I saw a vendor at Valpo with CCI tagged at $17/box and I was reaching for my wallet to buy all he had, but after standing there in front of him for several minutes he never looked up from his phone. That gave me enough time to math and find that even at $17 that's 34 cents/rd for rimfire. Nope, ain't a'gonna do it, so I left and he never knew I was there. Last time I bought .22Mag I paid 14 cents/rd and I hated it then. I can get it online for 21 cents but I have to buy a case of 5k. Well, okay then,....I guess I have to buy a case.

I do get a certain amount of amusement seeing the same beat up boxes of ammo some of these guys have been carrying back and forth to the CP show for a decade. Just like those 2 Smiths...
