3-D printing (additive manufacturing) continues to make great leaps forward. Hoffman Tactical has REFINED the Orca for the past year and it looks good.

I know we are still in the infancy of 3-D printed weapons (the big players in the space are young and have decades of exponential creation ahead of them) but with the fantastic new enhanced printers released earlier this month at the show in Germany and the coming integration of VR/AI/4-D printing, the future looks bright and shiny.

At the beginning of the video, he appears to be firing in full auto. Does that run afoul of NFA regulations?

A manufacturer can still make machineguns and have samples (with the correct paperwork in place), they just aren't transferable like pre-86 machineguns. These guns are referred to as "Post-Samples", being built post 1986 and can only be transferred between manufacturers, certain dealers, and military/law enforcement organizations (but not individuals).

Cool gun - I love how this technology continues to evolve and gain traction.

The blurred out reload at 0:19 is so dumb - YouTube can FOAD with these asinine, tyrannical new rules for gun videos.

I already sent them feedback on how ignorant it is.
I ask if movies and video games had to abide by the same rules. We all know the answer to that.

We get a fair amount of injection mold inserts 3d printed in hardened steel. Ridiculously complicated 3d shapes with internal cooling channels.

Surely somebody is already doing it, but this technology seems to be perfect for suppressor manufacturing.

Last summer the FBI announced that they were using 3-D suppressors.

Youtube has to do SOMETHING. Guntubers are extremely popular and they have to regain the narrative or the culture will crush them. Remember the antis actually fight.

Nah, he's not an SOT. The 3-D clan had a bump trigger first year of the pandemic.

They locked down the nation and they failed to slow the virus but only sped up progress on additive manufacturing which undermines every single gun law now and forever. The irony, so delicious.

This is a farm in Malta (in English) doing thousands of objects, but I imagine this printing Orcas, Glocks and magazines 24 hours a day then flying them out in drones . . . just thinking out loud.

I mean, you can find all sorts of gang stuff on YouTube. Drug use. Tons of videos that blur or altogether cross the lines of lawfulness and legality. Hell, how many scores of pro-Taliban accounts are operating in broad daylight and uploading content as I type this? Never mind the thousands of rap videos waving guns on camera and bragging about dealing drugs and murdering people. But mag reloads - someone think of the children! F*** YouTube.

But I digress. Don't mean to derail this thread. My 3D printed followers that let me run 5.56 ammo in surplus 5.45 AK mags are still going strong!

There are Metal 3D printers out there, they are pricey I think. I was at a talk about 3D printers a few years back, and they had samples from the metal printer. So I am sure they are better than they were 5 or 6 years ago, and likely at least a little cheaper.

GE is doing 3D printed parts for the CFM LEAP engine, and my employer is working with the technology.

Generally, I believe most of the work has been with sintered metals using fairly powerful lasers.

Personally I don't believe we are too far from 3D printing everything, including barrels and bolts. There will likely need to be post printing processing, but the initial form will be 3D printed.
