That's a shame you're having such rotten luck. Having only gotten into reloading in 2020, I've pretty much only been able to buy off-brand primers, and so far I've had extremely good luck with Murom primers. I'm several hundred rounds in on both their small rifle and small pistol primers, and not had a single one fail to go off.
Hopefully it is not so widespread for the "off brands". I get 5-6 failure to ignite rounds every range session. Most of my sessions expend 100-150 rounds. I suppose a 5% failure rate is not horrible, but I'd like something closer to 0%. :)

When it comes to guns and ammo, I want what I know works. Hence my hesitation to get the ginex or others.
CCI, Federal, S&B I have no reservations about.

I think @Creedmoor said the ginex are ok, but I am still reading about many posts about them being too tight fitting on various other forums.
I can confirm that the ginex large rifle primers are very tight. I wouldn't get them unless you have a way to swage prime pockets, otherwise you might not be able to get them in at all, depending on your brass.

My Fort Smiths were tight at times. I think the tolerances may be a little wider than the name brands. I was hoping that would be the only issue; some reloading difficulties.

And once they are swaged are the pockets too loose to go back to regular (cci/fed) primers?

I have never needed to swage any of my pockets except for NATO crimped.

Man, 5% failure rate? That's still pretty darn bad.

I haven't tested it yet, but I would guess the answer is likely to be "yes." So unless you have cheap brass that you're fine with basically ruining, I wouldn't recommend it, either.

So yeah, my recommendation would be steer clear of ginex unless you're really super desperate.

Ridiculous! A “come on” if I ever saw one. At the price they are asking for the primers in the ad, hazmat, shipping and taxes (LOL) should all be free. In fact at the price of those primers, they should reload your ammo for you! Just ridiculous price gouging!!!
The cost for primers is so high, might as well just buy ammo now. Ammo prices are really starting to fall, nearly to lower than the cost to reload all because of primer cost.

For example the deals Natchezss, aeammo.com, etc are giving now we are getting close to pre-pandemic prices on some calibers.
Ever seen some decent price on 62gr green tip 5.56 under $500 recently.

I'm with you. Though I prefer my handloads, at this point I'd rather buy factory 9mm at $0.28/round, vs loading my own at somewhere in the $0.22/round. I can use the reloading time for other hobbies, like rebuilding my Jeep Cherokee. :)

I'm going to try to pick up another 2-3K rounds of 124/125 gr 9MM after the holidays. Or I may try some 147 gr stuff. I will be set for next year then.

Plus, my handloads, though down loaded some, aren't powder puff loads so there is not much difference between them and factory stuff.

I've reloaded 500 of the Argentine Servicio small pistol primers thusfar with no issues. My revolvers and pistols all wear the factory hammer springs. Most of the issues I've read about these primers were from light primer strikes/hard cups, I'm wondering how much of that had to do with the guns and not the primers. As I reload more over the next couple of months I'll keep you informed of any issues, but so far so good.

I have so many difficulties with my Fort Smith primers that I can't get through some of the drills I do. Pretty frustrating. I probably have another 3K loaded rounds to go through.

I bought them just as we were getting into covid on a group buy. Reviews said they were good to go. Lesson learned. Never again.

DS, I hope you have better success than me.
Weren't the fort smith primers from de-milled ammo[pulled} I thought they all were!

Will they ship? It says in-store pickup only below it unless that only applies to those two store locations.
If these are good primers, that's a hell of a deal in today's market @ 5.7 cents each.

If it's anything like Fiocci quality, it may be worth getting.

I don't think so. Wouldn't you be able to tell if they were pulled? I do know they are Russian made.
just called a shooting buddy in tennessee, he told me they are military grade and that it is just a rumor about being pulled primers, this person is my go to source when i need help or advice also makes my custom left hand target stocks for my rifles too.

So does "military" grade mean hard primers?
