    Tone down the personal.

Do you have any proof the approach you advocate for will work? In what state did they execute this plan and get solid conservative reps? Is there any research that indicates the approach will work?

This approach is just fantasy, the truth is the electorate is not anywhere near as conservative as you and I. We are fortunate that Braun votes our way most of the time and combined with Young we get about 70% of our senators votes are the right way.

Braun and a democrat take that below 50% our way, that is significantly worse.
Apologies. No, do you have any proof your approach will work? Will supporting young for countless terms get us a better, more conservative rep Than he is?

No it is not. It is controlled by those that want to get candidates on said ballot and do the hard work in the trenches to make that a reality. For an Indiana senator that equates to filing on time, and collecting 4500 signatures, 500 minimum from each congressional district. I would suspect no one complaining in this thread got any signatures for the candidate they wanted to run against Young.

Some here are thinking some epiphany will happen to the people but those thinking that don’t even do anything about it when there is very little cost.

yep the GOP never interferes with candidates getting on the ballot. He was a long time Republican and a record of voting in the republican primary.

Suddenly the residents of Martha’s Vineyard realize what hypocrites they are as the busload of culturally diverse illegal immigrants pulls away, once again cleansing the island.

I never said that electing Young would get a better more conservative rep, It is the most conservative approach, then we must do what is needed to get a better candidate on the ballot. In truth, Young has not upset enough folks to really create momentum that defeats him, so replacing him will require significant work. At the end of the day Young’s campaign money is also a big obstacle to defeating him but keeping his head down, by not angering the left is a viable strategy for him…

Lugar-Donnelly-Braun pretty much fits the bill.
A lot more going on there than just the simple plan of shadow man. Donnelly was the result of a failed effort to take out a Young type rep. The outcome of that fiasco was six years of leftist democrat voting by my rep. Far worse than anything Young has done. We were lucky to get Braun out of that…

I disagree. 6 years of Donnelly was worth Braun.

The republican party is an association, with constitutional freedom of association. If there were no rules the left could just fill up republican ballots with candidates too. I fully supported the Wyoming GOP kicking out Liz Chaney. The guy tried to defeat republicans with independents, that is not working in the framework of the association…

Yeah, Donnelly voted for obamacare, against the Kavanaugh confirmation and to keep federal funding for Planned Parenthood, all of which, I guess, is great. I mean, at least he's better than a RINO.

In a Senate with a tight majority either way, a single donkey can do a hell of a lot of damage in six years.
