When my wife took her riding test, one of the other guys dropped his bike during the hard stop. The guy running the test blamed it it on the kid using the front brake. He said something like 'I wish they wouldn't put front brakes on bikes'.

One day, when I have more time, I'll recount my my bazaar account of doing the riding exam. The guy doing the exam that day was the president of ABATE in Indiana. :n00b:

I think I was there that day..with my son doing his test.. but seriously had a bad experience with my son taking his test in Elwood and a Abate member giving it. It was raining and someone dropped there bike. Gas on new asphalt = the next guy that rode had his bike slide out from underneath him due to the slick conditions. I asked the instructor to move that part of the test over and he said it was ok and to go get back out of the way.
Person riding had the front wheel slide out and he hit the pavement and fractured the metacarpal in the back of his hand.

The day I was there, in Martinsville, pretty woman that couldn't pass got passed. Wives of obviously seasoned riders, that were dangerous to all on the road, were passed. A woman on a scooter, wearing sandals, got "qualified" for the same license I did. :xmad:

Some folks didn't pass, but a Marine that couldn't pass the course got thanked for his service and was given passing paperwork. :n00b:

Any recommendations for riding rain gear? Doesn’t need to be anything fancy. I’m a fair weather rider, but taking a 4 day trip on a bike and want to be prepared.

Frog Toggs are what I've been wearing fir the last 7 or 8 years. Still wearing the first ones I bought and no leaks even when sitting in a water filled bucket seat.
