Damn straight....Exactly what I told some cousins when they came to visit and asked why I was carrying a 45.
I have been told I am paranoid however I carry at home. Even the trained observer is unlikely to notice. Also there are long guns around if you know where to look for them.

Of late I will take the long way home just to have a presence, visibility does a lot to discourage people from setting up shop.

Our subdivision is posted "No Solicitors", and while it`s true, it`s not in BOLD print as they enter the subdivision, it`s there nonetheless. I`ve told the same violators enough times when they`ve knocked on my door and disturbed me, they`re aware of this. When I answer the door with the door barely open, and tell them we`re posted NO Soliciting, they don`t care. They bark something back. When I answer the door, and it inadvertently opens up enough that they see the Glock 30 on my hip, they always catch sight of it and I see their eyes avert to the gun, and the discussion is over.
You are too nice. If someone makes it to my front door they better have a damn good reason for being there. Because they have already committed trespassing. We have a gated property that is locked. If they are at our front door the alarms are flashing and the cameras are recording and Tank will be on the other side of the door Waiting for his cue.

The last time it happened it was our Illinois transplant needing his BMW pulled out of the ditch. Needless to say I let Tank make it very clear his presence here was unwelcome. I have never seen anyone High tail it to and over the gate so fast in my life.

Ordinarily I am not such an *** Hole but this was the same guy that left a note in our mailbox about he did not like our flags hanging on the front Porch.

Depends. There are great flags, and then there are those that belong in the trash. Was it a USA flag? Or a BLM flag?

And out of curiosity, what did the flag hater say? Please modify your property to suit my needs? How dare that when I look on your private property, I see things I don't like?

Nobody gets a chance to explain why they are at my door. A couple of dogs drive that point home even further.

I give one polite “not interested”, and that’s it. After that, if they want to push it, it’s on, the dogs are on standby, and I’m in grumpy beast mode.

I learned that if you answer the door wearing a gun belt when a Jehovah Witness knocks they leave sooner.
the spectrum slugs jumped my fence when they saw the p220 on my hip.

i think they warned the other idiots working the hood.

I posted about it some time ago, From Left to Right, Blue Lives Matter, USMC, and Old Glory.

When I'm on the property I usually carry the Taurus TX22 for varmints, or aggressive snakes. I believe it will handle an aggressive human encounter on property as well. It might not be powerful, but 17rds in the chest, neck, and head I really don't think they will be feeling to well if they survive.

The joy of telling people like that to FATWO is delicious, they have already burnt down any consideration for trying to get along with the neighbors

If I had a tractor, I might have gone and ripped the bumper off his BMW while trying to 'help' him, though. Oops

One gun guy I listen to, put it this way...Some people just don't want to leak....getting shot leads to leaking....As to the original post, years ago while in the Air Force I went places around the world with nothing but a pocket knife...carrying wasn't an option...now I just go where I can carry. If I do ever go back overseas, I will have at least a pocket knife, or 2....or 3...Well except for the UK, where only cowards carry knives.....

Carry guns go back a ways in my family, it's the caliber that has changed. One grandfather always had a Remington .22 rifle in his jon boat on the Wabash, another toted a Hi-Standard Double Nine .22 when he felt like it (I inherited the Double Nine, still have it.)

My step-father always carried a Colt Woodsman .22 when we'd go into the woods here in Southern Indiana. My father preferred his H&R .22 magnum when he'd travel for work.

My brothers and nephews all have 9mm handguns we carry daily...Glock, Ruger (me), S&W. For years I hiked with a Single Six on my hip, now it's either the M9 or Security 9.

For that matter friends from work all carry 9mm as well...Glock, Ruger, Kel-Tec, S&W, Taurus (there's alot of firepower in the parking lot at work).

I said the caliber has changed but I supposed the threat has changed as well. Almost daily shootings here in Evansville, it's gotten alot worse since Covid.
