Voted for Chips and Science Act, now morphed into a $750 billion monstrosity that will be pushed through via reconciliation and will explode inflation even more. Also voted for Red Flag nonsense passed last month.

GOP got willingly duped by Dems on the Chips bill but I feel like I got duped for voting for him, no primary option now.

    Just venting here...

I found this ad in the local paper. Thought it was interesting to say the least.

I don’t know what this semiconductor joint venture they’re talking about here, but if it involves bringing the manufacturers back here, I’m all in. Bipartisanship isn’t a bad word by itself. It only is when it involves trading away fundamental principles for the sake of togetherness.

Throwing money and bureaucracy at the problem, what else?

It is good to bring that sort of development and production stateside, but the part many object to is the tax funded financial incentives. The semiconductor companies are profitable and don't need our tax dollars funding their research and development.
Devil's advocate; They are very profitable. When they already have a factory built overseas, can staff them with people willing to work for much less than Americans, etc.

Sometimes those incentives are necessary. Especially when they themselves have no real motivation to get out of their comfy spot they are currently in.

When was the last time you changed jobs for no real benefit? If your coworkers are OK, the bosses are OK, the work is OK, are you going to go through the hassle of changing jobs for nothing? No, you're only going to jump ship if the new job pays more, or is closer to home, etc. Like the factories above, you gotta have a reason to move.

I haven't read the bill but I feel pretty comfortable assuming this isn't removing competitive killing regulations, taxes, etc. It's probably a taxpayer funded money grab for the manufacturers.

Not surprising as Conservative Review rates his voting record as F 50% and he's the WORST rated Republican in the Indiana delegation to Congress.
BUT MAKE NO MISTAKE, YOUNG'S STILL FAR BETTER THAN ANY INDIANA DEMOCRAT WOULD BE.

For example, the two Democrats in the Indiana delegation to Congress are rated:
    Andre Carson F 7%
    Frank Mrvan F 5%

So thinking "I'll show 'em!.... I'll vote for the Democrat!" would be a really stupid thing to do.

I’m not voting for the RINO again. May take a democrat elected to get rid of him so the GOP gets the message. Voting L next election at least my conscience will be clear.
    Don't get me wrong.
I'm NOT going to vote for Young either as a matter of principal.
We had a chance to get rid of him in the Primary and didn't.

I plan to leave it blank, vote for the Libertarian candidate, or even write in my own name.

But to then turn around and vote for a Democrat/marxist that'll make Young look like a right winger and be 10 times worse?

Control of the Senate is up for grabs, and as bad as Young is, if him winning will be the one win that'll put the Republicans in control, I hope Young wins.
As he's nothing more than a "placeholder" that will give us the win.

Todd Young lost my support when he voted for Obama Care. He is the definition of a RINO

Can you post a link with the information that Young voted for Obamacare? I looked, but only find the opposite.

Also, and especially after the 2020 "The Senate Will Save Us" fiasco, there is no way that I will use my vote for any purpose other than the goal of a Republican majority. Just as has been the case for every Presidential election since Reagan, I'll vote for my person in the primary. If they lose, I'll hold my nose and vote for the most conservative candidate that I think has the best chance at keeping the donkeys out of power. Sorry, but Libertarians don't come close to fitting that bill.
