I called again just now and urged Governor Holcomb to sign HBA 1296. I got a voice mailbox after pressing option two so hopefully his lines are getting lit up.
I've done my fair share of calling and writing this week and last. I want them to remember my name to the point they get sick...literally vomit sick. I thought about sending a fruit basket with a nice note reading "thank you for signing the bill Governor. Oh wait! You haven't yet so do it!"

I'll really be surprised if he signs and I don't think he'll veto either. On this issue, he's stuck "rolling the dice" on any future political job support.

Not unexpected.. but IMPD chief is called for a Veto.
They live in a bubble. Here in Indy and other places. He's just sour he can't control the crime in his own city. Look at every leader or Leo that opposes the bill, look at their area. The crime is higher. Get your area in check first then you can open your mouth. Their crime problem has been there and gotten worse long before this bill was introduced. Every state who recently passed CC, the opposed have all had the same exact narrative as here.

“The options are limited,” he said. “You can’t really ask them for a handgun license because the law won’t be required anymore and unless there’s information to further that investigation, you conduct your traffic stop, run a records check, and if there’s nothing else prohibiting that person from owning a weapon, a felony count or anything like that, then they get to go on their business.”

What a crying ****ing shame that would be. He probably just described 99.9% of us.

Well that's the way it's supposed to be.

They're admitting to extending stops while they go on fishing expedition that they do not have probable cause for.

Not surprising to see this posted, INGO is often the best source for current events. I'll be reading the op-ed (when did it become OK for government employees to use their title and position to influence political actions? It's not ok for me to use my official title, position, or even mention where I work in this manner and I've been .gov a long time and I was .mil before there was a dot) and providing a counter-point a little later.

Beautiful evening, the warehouse fire is out, and now I have to debunk more ConC myths. I may do this from the screen porch, just sayin.

29 is not a criminal history, but it is relatively easy, just more cumbersome now but still easy.

So, it appears that the Governor still hasn't grown a pair.
It's looking more and more like a late Friday afternoon dump.
I guess he could just wait until Tuesday and keep his mouth shut.
I still don't think he has the balls to veto the thing.
