Emailed Holcomb today and called him a RINO and told him he was voted to stand with the people of Indiana, not to stand with a ISP non elected police chief. Told him if he keeps going against CC then good luck in his senate race because I don't know a single gun owner that will vote for him now. Asked him to at least run as a democrat because thats what he is.

    Good on Ohio for "letting" their citizens freely carry;

Let me see if I've got this straight. The State that elected Howard ******* Metzenbaum to office for like 50 ******* years and only recognized our LTCH in 2014 is going to beat us to Constitutional Carry??

    WHAT THE ACTUAL ****-OVER??!!

Hold on now…. They‘ve got Mike DeWine as governor. I wouldn’t be surprised if he vetoes it.

Last year DeWine signed a bill eliminating duty to retreat. I think Ohioans are in pretty good shape on this one. It took me months to get an appointment in Stark County, but I breezed through and got my CC license the same day (they sometimes make them right there while you wait). I hate the fact that “no guns” signs have the force of law, and that they have duty to inform, but otherwise, Ohio has its **** together.

Edit: also, remember, Ohioans haven’t needed a license to carry openly, Constitutional Carry is a shorter step for them… Think of what they’re passing as “Constitutional Concealed Carry”.

They have to get all 4 conferees to sign off on the conference report before it can go to the floor vote. They have to be done by midnight on the 14th(last day of the session), I am hearing once they get HB1002 done they will be done and get out early. I have also heard whispers around the halls that SB209 may have to go to Senate rules before a floor vote. If the happens it will be the death of the bill.
Can anyone expand on this? Are they making up the rules as they go along? It seems like there’s a surprise at every turn. How are we supposed to believe in the legislative process if it’s so ****ing complicated that we don’t know what’s going to happen next? And Io think we’re the ones that are actually politically involved!

FAX'd off another letter to Governor Holcomb. Reminded him that I have already asked that the Indiana State Republican Party not permit him to run under their banner again. Included was a reminder of the content of the Party Platform by which he achieved his office, by campaigning under that platform.

I also conveyed that his statements to the media regarding SB 109 were NOT helping his cause. Followed by a clear statement that should SB 109 reach his desk with the language of HB 1077, any action other than an affirmative signing of the legislation would make him irrevocably unsuitable for further elected office to this voter.

The more I consider what I witnessed during the February 23rd Judiciary meeting, the more disgusted I become.

To quote Kenny Loggins, "THIS IS IT!!" We are in the last week of conference committee activity for the session.

1-800-382-9467 to leave a message for your Senator.

First link below, find your Senator, click "send email" and you'll find the name and number of your Senator's Legislative Assistant. You might get voicemail or a person. Be polite, be professional, urge support of SB 209 (with House-passed HB 1077 language.)

Second link below is for Senate President Pro Tempore Bray. His Legislative Assistant (Kayla) is at 317-232-9416. Again polite, professional, "thank you for your support on SB 209 with House-passed HB 1077 language."

I think Senator Bray has "seen the light" on this issue. Calls of support also have the affect of letting him know we are paying attention.

Done. Fortunate my senator (Koch) is one of the ones helping out here. I’ve sent him a couple of emails now basically just saying “thank you”.

    far from here
Sine die is March 14th (by law last day of session) I have heard the last couple of weeks that they want to end the session early. In my opinion I feel they only have a couple of bills left that they want to pass then they will let the rest die. HB1002 (tax relief bill) is one of the bills they want to get done and it was heard in conference committee this morning. I was told today that the major players would like to be done tomorrow but if its a late night they would finish Wednesday.

    Where's the bacon?
If they don't even take it up for a vote no current 'R' in my district will get a single vote from me while they are still in office. Flame away at me guys. These sleezeballs need accountability.
In fairness, the Rs in your district may not be the ones keeping it from being heard and voted. Might I suggest instead focusing your absolutely appropriate outrage on getting the ones who ARE responsible out of office and out of power? Examples would be Eric Holcomb, Roderick bray, and Elizabeth Brown.
