Have an new old men’s diamond ring that I’ve had for 35 years. Just sets in the safe. Not interested in the rip off buy gold here place and a jewelry store is a start.. didn’t know if anyone else has had a better experience. Don’t have to sell but it just sets and thought about moving it along. I wore this once and it’s just not my style
    Thanks for any suggestions.

As a start, I'd suggest getting it appraised as if you were insuring it. That way you have a real retail value of the ring and can make an educated decision on any offers you get.

This is the answer. Not selling, just an appraisal for insurance.

    Yep.

They found a **** ton of them on Russia and the Russians are all like "da! Now we wheel haf lotz of monies Conrad" and debeers showed up and was like "nope those are worthless too small bro, but we will tell you what, we will give you a some cash to buy all off then and the rights". Then they bought all the tiny worthless diamonds and made entire jewelry lines based on tiny diamonds.

It's a monopoly they control the supply, they generate demand and rake in the cash.

Fun fact: I bought a $650 engagement ring for $600.
A year land a half later after the divorce I sold it for $250 and bought the Smith and Wesson 15-22. After all is said and done I'm happier with the rifle over the wife.

Just keep it for whatever sentimental reasons you have, no one will give you squat for it unfortunately…

Diamonds are the number one most over priced things ever. They are worth nothing. Once you buy one from a store it's worth less than the metal holding them. I'll give you $50.
My favorite are the "chocolate diamonds". They're basically the same diamonds that they use on industrial saw blades.

For appraisals, I have used Hoosier Jewelers in Whiteland on Whiteland Road west of 65. Had the wife’s rings looked at and both were over double what I had paid for them. Remember, good prices are through the roof right now.

Decatur is closer to me. .
    And I appreciate the suggestions
I had no idea on the value or appraisal of it. Why I asked.. it’s set for a long time if it sets another 30 years it’s fine , my kids can deal with it.. still up in the air what to do with it. Maybe bury it and some other odds and ends leave a treasure map for my grandkids to find..!

Yes this. But keep in mind most jewelry appraisals are effectively replacement cost, not retail value. For instance I have an emerald, diamond and gold bracelet and earrings set which has an appraised value over $15,000, but i have consigned it a few times for around $8,000 and never sold it.
