Only a couple of teams have a Henry or Taylor and those teams stats should be different than the losers always passing to, on the faintest of hope, get back in a game, or passing heavy teams.

I agree the team is to blame but it starts at the top.

We will lose to the Pats this way too. Belichick always takes away your strength.

Exactly. When the defense plays a specific way to take away your strengths, you have to be able to adapt and change gears to different plays. If the Pats absolutely sell out to stop the run, it would be asinine if Reich just continued to call run plays. Come on guys.

At some point we must run some no matter the men in the box to keep them honest.

The fans recognize the Colts have a strong back and want him featured.

Yep, when the Pats were mugging the receivers Manning checked out of pass to pure runs and the stat sheet looked the total opposite of what Murph posted…

NOPE, Manning threw the damn ball, he got his and more anyway. That’s what fans want, Taylor to get his and more, just shove it down their throats…

Yeah and remind us all how we that worked out for Manning against the Patriots…..

Two SB appearances and one win.

The stats Murph posted are pretty damning…

Come on now. Let’s not do revisionist history. The Pats owned us for years. Yeah we had two SB appearances. They had a million.

I’m sorry but you all are just wrong on this one.

And showing a simple “run” or “pass” for every down shows no context. Are you implying that it doesn’t matter what the defense does, we should just run? I know you guys are smarter than that. “We should be able to run on anybody” is a very low level view of the NFL. Even Derrick freakin Henry has bad games.

Ball control offense is great. A few teams do it well. Ravens browns two teams in the AFC. Add the Bears in the NFC. Low scoring games. Better than average kickers. Good defense.

Indy has a good start to become a Ball control offense. Like the Bears they might have to as Carson Needs help. Not much of a core groups of pass catchers. I guess TY might have helped a bit

This is the real issue for the Colts moving forward. If you sell out to stop the run, and double team Michael Pittman, we really don’t have any other weapons on offense that scare anybody. TY is at the sunset of his career. Paris Campbell can’t stay off the injured list. Pascal is good but if he’s the #2 receiver then we’re in bad shape. Have to get quality depth at receiver and tight end.

For clarification, the second set of numbers in all of those columns was the Jacoby Brissett season.

Reich-led offenses have been consistently top 10 in nearly every category. And that’s on top of the fact that he’s had a different quarterback every season.

Agreed. And we haven't had anyone so far that seems to have the "chemistry" of say a Manning/Reggie Wayne or Luck/Hilton combination. I think there's something to be said for that. Pittman is probably the closest, but it's really not even very close.

It takes time. This is the first Wentz/Pittman season and it’s definitely showing some promise.

What if Jim/Ballard make a play at Rodgers and adams. Keep Carson as a backup. I believe the cap space is available.

Now you have the firepower to put up big numbers against teams that are going to score. You have the running game to grind time off a clock. You have a good kicker.

This is just for a one year Super Bowl run.
    Not a rams move.

I don’t know what percentage of the fan base is going to be disappointed, but, barring injuries, Carson Wentz will 100% be the quarterback next year.
You are the only fan I know that likes the Wentz acquisition.

So my prediction is if he stays the majority will just continue to be disapointed and more will join them. It is up to Wentz to win them over. The fan base here knows what wa winning QB looks like…

I knew absolutely nothing about Wentz before he came here, so honestly I didn't know what to expect. I've warmed up to him now though. Is he a Manning or a Luck? No. But not many are.

I had no feelings either way about Carson before the season.

Now I know he’s good enough to win.

He’s on pace for 20+ TD’s and less than 10 INT’s. It would be his 3rd season of doing so.

Only quarterbacks in NFL history with 3 or more seasons of 20+ TD’s and less than 10 INT’s:

    Brady
    Brees
    Manning
    Rodgers
    Wilson

If you don’t want Carson as your quarterback, then the reason is something other than his play. I can’t help ya there bud. That’s a personal issue.

Being a football fan first, and not just a fan of a home team I read on all the teams. I followed the Philly saga, saw how he couldn’t stay healthy, and had a hope for some better in Indy. I had hoped that Ballard could find the next Mac Jones, err, Brady/Manning, and not do the retread thing.

Who else did you want Ballard to go get?

Aaron Rodgers? The Packers are 16th in points per game.

Matthew Stafford? The Rams and that high powered offense are 8th in the points per game.

The Colts are 4th in points per game.

“Winning QB play”. Give me a break man. Yeah Manning was amazing. One championship in 14 years. Luck was amazing too. Zero championships and walked away at his peak.

Reich and Wentz are more than capable of playing winning football. The defense needs to hold up their end of the bargain. Double digit leads in the past 8 games. Would you rather they have double digit deficits in every game? The Wentz hate is so confusing to me.

Wentz literally did exactly what people say he can’t do the last game against the Bucs. They needed a 4th quarter score and he led them down the field on the back of Taylor and the offense scored a TD to tie the game. No hero ball. Boring handoffs. Right down the field for a score. What else is he supposed to do people!?!?!?

It is a team game, team matters. Stats are great but it is wins that fire up a fan base. At one point the Colts were the winningest team in all of football, later passed by the Pats.

The NFL is a very tough game. The players that will either flourish or burn up in it rarely change when they go to another team. The Wentz story was written in Philly and it will likely be rewritten here. We better have a capable backup if that indeed happens.

If your team wins a SB with you on the bench, just how critical of a puzzle piece were you?
