No way in hell that almost 2/3 of Californians voted to keep him.

Our elections are as credible as Zimbabwe's at this point.
As an Californian in exile believe me when I tell you that there are more than enough people who take their latte with kool-aid to keep him in office. It’s the main reason why I am now a happy member of your wonderful state.

I think the biggest problem with this mandate is the finger wagging “you will comply” aspect. If the goal is compliance, why not use incentives? Maybe another round of stimulus checks for only the vaccinated? Or maybe take away access to federal benefits, loans, subsidies, etc.? This whole thing screams of authoritarianism more than a sincere hope for compliance.
Incentives are to be saved and used for the ones that are most likely to vote left. You can’t really consider letting everyone get a check just because they get a jab…

Can we dispense with this “jab” nonsense. It’s pure propaganda and sounds dumb. It’s an injection, a shot, maybe even a vaccine. It’s not a “jab”

there is power in language. A jab is non threatening, a vaccine is potentially dangerous.

I’m not suggesting we do those things...

I’m saying if this was a legitimate desire to gain compliance with vaccination, there are much more effective ways of doing besides threats.

I agree that the use of the word "jab" is propaganda....but who is using the "jab" language? Those who think the vaccine is non-threatening?

I’d sure like to know then etymology of that word. But I think it started in liberal circles and then moved towards those who are anti vax using it as a slur.

regardless it’s a brand new phrase trying to dilute what is actually being done.

22,000,000 registered voters. 24,800,000 eligible voters.

    9,200,000 voted in recall election.
Please do the math for me so I can get 66%. I am having trouble connecting the dots. I am sure it is me because Bug says I have trouble in this area!

Welcome to America! Where behind every blade of grass there is a conspiracy theory. Some Japanese general who never actually said anything like that.

Arguably the most liberal state, a runoff with enough candidates to split the votes and people will believe a talk show host won.

I believe it's British in origin

My employer sent an email today stating they are not planning to institute an employee vaccine mandate (at this time), but that may change depending on how Biden's EO plays out.

I'm pleased that the company has been expressly telling employees they should be following the advice of their doctor when making the decision whether to get vaccinated.

They are offering some pretty heavy incentives to get the shots though, including $500 gift cards, portable generators and even a new truck.

And they're talking about landlords kicking people out of their home.
What happened to "The CDC must stop landlords from evicting deadbeats because being on the streets will give you covid and kill you"?

Guess it's because "the voluntary phase is over". Maybe those blind, submissive sheep in California will learn a lesson about what happens when you give the government power to "help".
