They are now looking at using Camp Atterbury for housing Afghan refugees….
WSJ has paywall, here's one citing WSJ:

According to the WSJ, the places the Pentagon is considering in the United States for accepting refugees include military bases in Fort Pickett, Virginia, Camp Atterbury, Indiana, Camp Hunter Riget, California, and Fort Chaffee, Arkansas. Senior officials predicted that Dulles International Airport near Washington would become a center for handling refugees from Afghanistan.

I think it's become apparent the U.S. will need to send fighting vehicles outside the airport to go pick up American citizens, and this will probably involve reneging on the Aug. 31 "pullout deal" they made with the Taliban. My understanding is these are American civilians, desk-jockeys and paper-pushers who probably don't even have guns. It's not their fault the U.S. effed this up, and the .Gov is telling them to "shelter in place" again.

Problem with that is, it would mess up Joe Biden's 9-11 "we are out" message. This will require a scapegoat. Somebody is going to have to fall on the sword for the "intelligence being wrong on the ground." Wonder who it would be?

Have you ever been so triggered by a subject that you brought it into a totally unrelated thread?

Surprised to see so many snowflakes in August.
