I choose a Kimber Ultra as my constant companion, which means I'll use it to fight my way to my AR-15. But living where I do a home invasion or burglary while I am home is pretty slim.

The one that's closest to me at the time of need. Could be my RIA Ultra FS 10MM 1911, my AR-15, if it’s varmints my 10/22.

Now if I have time to dig in the safe well that opens up a whole new line if defense.

It really all depends on what room an intruder is encountered. There are different guards in different rooms.

More than likely it would be a 38 or a 357.

I even think the newest member of the family the Smith and Wesson M&P 15-22 might be perfect for home defense since the bullets would be less likely to travel outside the house.
