BUT, that I really, really didn't want to buy it, because of having to clean-out the cosmoline !
I did an internet search last night: "SKS in Indiana for sale"I can't imagine that there isn't a decent ready-to-go SKS sitting in a gun shop in or around Indy?
Is the market really that oversold that we can't even find an SKS?
Another thing would be to call the local pawn shops and ask if they have any on the rack. For instance, the Lafayette pawn shop doesn't list their stock online (they do sell a few on GB, and wow at the prices on GB).I did an internet search last night: "SKS in Indiana for sale"
It came up with (2) on Armslist (which I don't trust) .... and if I remember, they were $600, and $550 ... and ugly.
It also showed one available in the gun shop in Mooresville that's owned by CM's friend. It was called a "target model", and had an odd plastic stock, and was listed at $850 !
Like you, I bet there's one out there someplace, but right now, I don't have time or energy to start driving around gun shops. I'm meeting a licensed electrician at the cabin tomorrow, to try to solve the electrical woes down there. Probably going to be big $'s !
I'm way too deaf to "call" anyone, my friend. When it comes to phones, I'm limited to texting.Another thing would be to call the local pawn shops and ask if they have any on the rack. For instance, the Lafayette pawn shop doesn't list their stock online (they do sell a few on GB, and wow at the prices on GB).
I don't know anything about SKS's but there where several on Gunbroker. Prices all over the place. When I started my string of threads last night, I had hoped that one of you CZ'icko friends might have (2) SKS's from the 'good old days', and would sell me one of them.
I wasn't looking to 'steal' one for below market value, but was hoping to at least find one that wasn't nasty, and ragged-out.
In this climate, I can't blame anyone for not wanting to sell their firearms. No worries !
As a Glock owner and millennial, im offendedI suspect the owner of this 1911 has more Glocks than 1911. Just sayin’
