That's the one that I said that I put in my cart last night (1st post in my string).....
BUT, that I really, really didn't want to buy it, because of having to clean-out the cosmoline !

I can't imagine that there isn't a decent ready-to-go SKS sitting in a gun shop in or around Indy?

Is the market really that oversold that we can't even find an SKS?

I did an internet search last night: "SKS in Indiana for sale"
It came up with (2) on Armslist (which I don't trust) .... and if I remember, they were $600, and $550 ... and ugly.
It also showed one available in the gun shop in Mooresville that's owned by CM's friend. It was called a "target model", and had an odd plastic stock, and was listed at $850 !

Like you, I bet there's one out there someplace, but right now, I don't have time or energy to start driving around gun shops. I'm meeting a licensed electrician at the cabin tomorrow, to try to solve the electrical woes down there. Probably going to be big $'s !

Another thing would be to call the local pawn shops and ask if they have any on the rack. For instance, the Lafayette pawn shop doesn't list their stock online (they do sell a few on GB, and wow at the prices on GB).

When I started my string of threads last night, I had hoped that one of you CZ'icko friends might have (2) SKS's from the 'good old days', and would sell me one of them.

I wasn't looking to 'steal' one for below market value, but was hoping to at least find one that wasn't nasty, and ragged-out.
In this climate, I can't blame anyone for not wanting to sell their firearms. No worries !

I'm way too deaf to "call" anyone, my friend. When it comes to phones, I'm limited to texting.

Just a thought, MM. You could start a thread asking if anyone has seen one around for sale. There are 47k members on here, but our little thread isn't reaching all of them. Or you could try doing a "WTB" ad in the classifieds.

    Trying to help a brother!

    .
Got a call from my son, he said Atlanta and the surrounding area is dry, both gas and diesel. Anything you have coming from there I would not expect to see soon.

My son just moved to ATL as well.

Said he was waiting in line at Costco this morning for gas. He did eventually get some, and for about 50 cents a gallon cheaper than it's running here currently, but yeah, many stations closed and lines at the ones that are open.

The ransomware attack on the pipeline operator has them shutdown.

I did read somewhere that GA had suspended it's gas tax during this issue.

Does she know Daniel Plainview or his wonderful son H.W.?
    Sorry, you lost me there.

She may have just been forwarding me a message from a friend of hers. I kinda took it with a grain of salt at the time.

I don't watch the news, so I'm pretty disconnected from most day to day things in the real world anymore.
