    I have wondered the same.

I expect a legal beagle will be along to explain to Liberty loving rubes like me how an executive can do anything he wants until a court says no.

I also wonder re: what was mentioned up thread regarding ammo, etc. History shows something like this was tried by a tyrannical son of a b**ch back in April of 1775. It did not turn out too well for that b**ard or the toadies he sent to do his dirty work.
We, the American people, are under no obligation to follow unconstitutional laws........if, and, or when possible, just pay no attention to what the ccp puppets say.

Technically an Executive Order should be to enforce, or get an agency to enforce and existing law, or define an existing law.

For instance, George Bush the First issued an executive order demanding ATF define "sporting purpose" in the 1968 GCA. That is what gave us Title 18 922(r).

On the other hand william jefferson clinton in wanting to ban weapons by name had congress draw up a law banning importation which he signed, which is why no more AK variants from China, Egypt, etc.

As for Biden, he doesn't seem to be bound by the constitution, so I would not be surprised if he improperly or even illegally uses an EO to write a law.

    From A.T.F. dot G.O.V. today

Does an individual need a license to make a firearm for personal use?

No, a license is not required to make a firearm solely for personal use. However, a license is required to manufacture firearms for sale or distribution. The law prohibits a person from assembling a non–sporting semiautomatic rifle or shotgun from 10 or more imported parts, as well as firearms that cannot be detected by metal detectors or x–ray machines. In addition, the making of an NFA firearm requires a tax payment and advance approval by ATF.

    [18 U.S.C. 922(o), (p) and (r); 26 U.S.C. 5822; 27 CFR 478.39, 479.62 and 479.105]

Who wants to bet that changes tomorrow?

Technically, they can get away with just about anything nowadays. Standard capacity (what they call "high capacity") magazines and rifles "pose an imminent threat to public health" or some other BS....

They can write any EO, heck any law at this point and pass it and let the court sort it out.

Notice those guys never post in these threads. Wonder why

Biden can KMA. If he’s the most popular president ever he shouldn’t have to legislate by EO
We'll see what happens tomorrow with the EO rollout but one of them might be occupied with how they will come up with an apology before taking a permanent exit. Stay tuned......

I also read there is supposed to be a new ATF director announced tomorrow. He's a senior policy adviser at Gifford's gun grabbers.

Oh I bet there is going to be some fine print involved in this. I can hear the back up alarm now.

There already has been. I try not to engage with that faction of INGO and I can't believe some of the guys here do.

Walk into a thread, drop a huge grenade with 3 words, and walk away while 20 guys :hooked:and 50 pages of :runaway: later nothing has changed. Seems like if nobody fed them, we wouldn't have them..?

Yep... some here voted for it. Make sure you give them a big Thank You or something like that.

One might reasonably ask how they expect to run their "checks" on those already in existence.
OK you dingalings. I have had to pull posts and hand out no points warnings. Lets be less like RigRed OK.

I am not playing. If you want to loose access to this playground keep it up.

"quote from bejing joe" Only a dictator rules by executive order ------------ haha and some voted for this liar!!!!!!
That describes Joe perfectly. The personality of a [richard] and the intelligence of a tator. Put those together, and you have a dictator.

I could add that I am not young and he has been a lying slimeball politician longer than I have been alive. You would think people would catch on by now.
